Thank you so much for this @TomoFujiaMusic. My 10-year old son has finally started showing an interest in his suburban guitar dad's hobby, but even though I've been playing for over 20 years, I'm struggling with how to teach him in a way that feels "cool" and not immediately overwhelming, you know? This is such a great entry point, where we can start jamming together right away. I swear I woke up thinking about this this morning, and then bam, on my feed while I'm stringing up one of my old beater guitars for him. Weird how the universe works.

Hello Tomo, you and Dexter are awesome. I really love your videos. Especially the E fingerstyle acoustic ones - the cat just makes it better. I will think about it. But off the top of my head. I would say maybe ideas on improvising some Triads into the E fingerstyle. Anything to help improvisation. I also really enjoy turnarounds. You have interesting takes on playing. Lots of knowledge. Im still working on getting your level 3 turnaround down from your video. I just want to say thankyou again for the great content. I enjoy these fingerstyle blues videos. Carpal tunnel in both hands and trigger fingers in both hands (total of 3) then two surgery dates (one for each hand 5 months apart) with a total of five surgery incisions and here we are almost ready to start up in unrest again. Looking forward to it

I have a question. I'm an early intermediate fingerstyle player, with minimal theory knowledge. I've been following your statement in other videos about what your minimum expectation is for your students to begin classes. So I've been learning the fretboard notes, how to construct the major scale and basic chord building. I've made a lot of progress there, but not sure where to go next to further my goal of learning exactly the kind of thing you've been doing here in this video, namely constructing some bluesy improvisations around chords and riffs. I can see I still have a long ways to go before I can do that and need to consolidate and expand the knowledge gained so far, but I'm getting bored and frustrated and feel like I'm not making any more progress other than memorising what I've learned so far.

Does your cat often do this when you play that guitar? I ask because a few months ago I got a new nylon string guitar with very exceptional tone and volume. My cat had expressed occasional something when I played my steel string acoustic, but this new guitar he would climb all over me whenever I played it. Very similar to what your cat is doing here. After much research I found that it's not uncommon for cats to react badly to guitars. It's the bass notes that distress them, apparently.
