I’ve watched a lot of KZbin how-to guitar videos but I think this just might be the best presented one. Definitely learned a lot I will add to my own playing of this Who classic.

Your lessons are the best on here, I each one is great and so much better than using tabs to learn songs. You've covered pretty much every PJ song I can think of but I haven't found Blood, whenever you get the chance, you think you can do Blood?
@RyanLendt6 жыл бұрын
hehe in my unofficial tally in my head I feel like we've done 30% of the PJ songs :P At any rate, thank you, and thanks for being here! I'll definitely do Blood. My electric guitars are in a moving truck at the moment, and I cannot wait to get back to the rockers :)

Ryan, I have a question regarding your Betterman chord that is used in Plush. D/F”Bass I believe it’s called. I’ve been trying to play the bass with my thumb combined with a regular D chord to no avail. I haven’t seen it played in the Betterman style, is this a direct replacement for the chord I was trying to play? Lastly, do you play the high e in your version or is it muted? Many thanks for your time.
@RyanLendt6 жыл бұрын
howdy Justin :) Mute the high E string if you're not doing the thumb method. Those two ways of playing the same chord are interchangeable (unless you really really want to hear the high F#. which I have yet to find myself wanting to do)
@JustinTaylor10986 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ryan, that’s cleared up my confusion.

Man!! I’m so stoked about this song! Haha that’s funny about the yellow led better. I have been looking for different ways to play it. I have two. The way you taught! Then one where it’s just Eddie and Mike on stage. I forgot where they are. I think The Bridge School.Mike is using an accoustic. And the last bar of the intro he plays it a little different without the slide. Man since we are on Yellow Ledbetter. You know the note right before you go to the B major. The 7th fret 6 string which is a B note. The one Mike plays with his thumb. For some reason I can’t get that part to sound good. I have the whole song but that one part! Any alternative? You know which note I’m talking about? I haven’t got to a diffetent way to play the verses Besides using open EAB. Is there any other very different ways the verses are played?
@RyanLendt6 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean about the thumb. I have tinkered with the thumb method and don't find it something I care to be able to do well, so I usually just play that B note with my pointer finger and then go on to do the F shaped B. it's not exactly right, but it's good enough for me :) and nope. you got it - stone just plays EBAE on the acoustic for the whole song. Mike noodles.
@theseeker44196 жыл бұрын
Yea I have to use my pointer finger too! I meant when I go to hit that note after the D string it just doesn’t go good with the song. I thnk I am messing my timing up. After I hit that B note. I imeaditly go to the B major. It’s sounds like I changing chords on the wrong count of the Barr? Is that B note mikes hits with his thumb, the end of the Barr to go to the B major. Or is it the 3 beat.Then there is still another note in the Barr? Before yu got to B major? Do you know what I mean lol.
@theseeker44196 жыл бұрын
When I talk about B major chord I mean the F shape B major in the intro.
