Jeff Beck knows exactly what's in his guitars!!!!! He knows a lot about guitars, necks, bodies and electronics.

danstortion yes ,he works on building cars part by part,he is going to know his set up,and I believe that the klon really helped fatten up his tone ,I've seen beck every tour 80s ,it was a lot thinner sound u could hear what he was going for,but when got then klon all those sweet jams started coming out ,

Perhaps a noise gate is needed?

Thats how I have my Tone pots wired on my Strat also, I think its the best of both world and you get a spanky in between position no matter what your tones are set for. I like to experiment with different caps too. With this setup you can have seperate caps for your neck and bridge. So if your bridge is way to bright add a .047 PIO cap on its tone and a .022 on the neck and it will help to take some of the dark/flub out of the neck and thicken the bridge at the same time. HOLLA AT YA BOY.

9 years and counting. I've had Marshalls, Mesas, AC30's. They're all noisy there's no getting around it. I don't use single coils. Even with humbuckers there's still noise. What I'm getting at is that the volume knob shouldn't be used as a way to clean up the noise, rather it should be used to clean up the gain. I just couldn't see someone maxing their volume knob out at 7 and not 10 because of some noise. Yes, he probably should have turned it down while speaking. So yes, I do have a clue.

Very good, thanks. I love JB.

Have you guys notice that a closed back cabinet goes a long way in helping the bridge pick up on a strat sound thicker and less Buddy Hollie sounding than an open back cab? Thanks

You are welcome! Than you for checking this out. Humm Holdsworth tone... The real problem would be playing like him! Maybe on Kings of Tone vol II!

@NotchDeltaSignal does a noise suppressor alter the tone? thx Berh

My tremolo arm hardly moves at all. The bridge is really stiff. Beck uses US Vintage Noiseless yeah? I have those in my Strat
@emidiojorge5 жыл бұрын
Actually that's not true. He uses John Suhr pickups. Search his guitar tech interviews on the web where he claims that.

Yea it sounds like he is sitting in front of a old Viewsonic or somethin. I have strats and they dont hum that bad. Maybe shield it? I only believe in using the tape. It does work. And shield tape is the BEST

good info, but please use a gate or pot down when you're talking, the buzz is really distracting.

all those Jeff Beck imitators are missing this certain "squeaking" element in his tone. seems nobody ever found out how to get that.
@dirkulbricht998510 ай бұрын
maybe you would have to be Jeff Beck …
@erosar1012 жыл бұрын
No, dude. Nobody uses their damn volume knob to get rid of noise. If you want to go balls out full volume you can't according to you. There will always be noise. Don't want the noise, get a noise suppressor, or get noiseless pickups.
