9:53 - 10:30 excellent remark… it highlights once again how brilliant (and perfectionist) Jeff Buckley was..!

Fun facts; Jeff with his band use to play the entire 2112 album by Rush from front to back in rehearsal, and he was a friend and roommate with guitarist Chris Dowd a member in Fishbone. Jimmy Page himself saw Jeff live and was enthralled with his guitar playing. I mention this because we can only imagine the wide and diverse Possibilities of art he may have put out if he had not died so young.

Great summary. I love the bit when he sings about his time has come and the strings sound like a sigh. Have a look at Nothing But Thieves, the lead singer has a very Buckley-like range

I loved your breakdown so much! The explanation of how he ignores typical song structure and his use of interesting textures to keep our attention was super enlightening. Thinking about it, he almost reminds me of Radiohead in that regard! Their music often just feels like it’s own universe that sucks you in and his is similar!

1994 was an incredible year for rock/grunge/alternative/whatever you want to call it. Not only was it the year that Grace was released, it was a year that featured all of the following releases: Korn - Korn Bush - Sixteen Stone Nirvana - MTV Unplugged Live in New York Green Day - Dookie Pavement - Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain Beck - Mellow Gold Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral Soundgarden - Superunknown The Offspring - Smash Live - Throwing Copper Stone Temple Pilots - Purple Blur - Parklife R.E.M. - Monster The Cranberries - No Need to Argue Oasis - Definitely Maybe Blues Traveler - Four Hole - Live Through This Beastie Boys - Ill Communication Dave Matthews Band - Under the Table and Dreaming Hootie and the Blowfish - Cracked Rear View Weezer - Weezer It was also the year that featured releases from other genres, most notably: The Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die Aaliyah - Age Ain't Nothing But A Number OutKast - Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik T.L.C. - CrazySexyCool Boyz II Men - II As well as other releases from Cake, Marilyn Manson, 311, Brandy, Sublime, David Gray, The Prodigy, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Seal, Rollins Band, Violent Femmes, Warren G and Elliott Smith!!!!! I really don't like being "that guy," but we haven't seen an amazing year for music like that again, and we probably never will!!

I agree, What a tragic loss. I love the textures ( reminds me of Omir) and that incredible long long held note (reminds me of the last note in Sinful Passion). I try to imagine how horrible it would have been if Dimash had drowned, I year after his name exploded, first album released. The horror of that is simply beyond belief or a similar thing happening with Tosin Abasi😱🥺😱😭 Thank you for sharing this with us and helping to raise my gratitude levels. 🥰🥰🥰Hugs from a Canadian Dear🇨🇦
