Don't forget to press Shift and then 0 (Zero) if you want to correct the previous note in a bar. I composed a 16 bar song and then there was a wrong note which i got to correct just before the 3rd note in the 2nd bar. i deleted that note but couldn't add a note in between. it took me an hour to figure it out (A rest will appear and then you can the correct note). press Shift and then 0 (Zero)

Yo Levi! Thanks for the video, so you know if it’s possible to select multiple notes by single string only? Guitar pro wants to do those power chords with the 3rds as 2 strings, a string skip, then a fret below the barred chord- but I prefer to play 3 strings together with huge stretch because I hate myself…? There’s got to be an easier way to change big sections all at once instead of selecting note by note and hot keying transpose down a string. Hopefully this made sense…

It totally makes sense! Unfortunately not though. It’s not something I’d considered, but I’d like that feature too!!

I have a problems correcting mistakes, lets say, changing a note at the 2nd beat, when I make that correction, I always wind up having to rewrite the the notes for the rest of the bar (beats 3 & 4) that got erased. Is there a shortcut to key to delete/modify notes without losing the work you did after?

single click on the beat three, "insert a beat" from the bar menu. you can then adjust the length of this beat to two beats or half a beat... (learn the keyboard shortcut!!)

Haha, you entered that riff faster than I could play it!! Seriously though, that has changed my thinking that GP is clunky for note entry compared to my previous app (Crescendo). But a bit of practice, coupled with the mixer, sounds and extensive palettes knocks my app out of the park. I write a lot of piano/keys music in standard notation, I'm hoping GP8 will become easy for that too. Thanks Levi, learned a lot today!

A feature I really want GP to add sometime in the future: adding tap rhythms. As in, you put in the tempo, it starts to play across the staff and "records" the rhythms you tap with one or two key strokes. Afterwards you can change the notes but the rhythms are done. Is this even possible?

Levi, I appreciate your tutorials a lot. I am now busy to make a score for PIANO (I didn't know this was possible!) When playing the piano you have the possibility to play 3 or 4 notes together and give some notes a (tied) duration. If I try this in GP now and change 2 notes in duration and play others in another duration (for example 2 notes half notes and note 3 and 4 in 16th) I now only can change all notes in half notes or 16th. Not separate! Do you know a solution for this?

You could place it anywhere on the screen, for optimal workflow, like the fingerboard and the keyboard. The editor palette is not movable and far away so this tool is the greatest! Levi - you mention "saving your wrists"... I'm curious, since you're very technology-savvy, I'm wondering if you've experienced any repetitive-stress-related issues that has affected your playing? Personally, I'm a couple years shy of 50, but already experiencing some nasty CMC-joint pain (arthritis?) on my picking hand. I'm trying to take full advantage of the years I've got left before it makes its way over to my fretting hand. I've read horror story of people losing their ability to bar chords. And I STILL haven't learned how to sweep pick like Frank Gambale!! The horror! The horror!

@LeviClay
@LeviClay 5 жыл бұрын
Thomas Kelly there are options. Either a midi pickup, or a midi converter - but even then, the program just reads that as midi information. That doesn’t contain rhythmic value, where the note is played etc. A midi keyboard doesn’t have that problem. There’s only one place you can play middle C there.
