Solving world problems one step at a time! Is it really that easy? Yes, from this video anyway. I once had a ‘42 Gibson J-45, and it had no truss rod. Seems like lots of things were rationed back then, even man-power. I’d say the ladies did incredible work making guitars in their counterparts’ absence (at least on my old J-45) .

Hey Scott, wanted to thank you for your tip from a few weeks ago about smoothing out the back side of old truss rod nuts. It’s become a standard procedure for me on nuts I’m taking off to lube. I never really thought to look but some of those things are really mangled. I’ve been working on an old MIJ Memphis P bass copy with a less than cooperative truss rod nut, and smoothing out the back and lubing it up made a world of difference. Thanks again!

Awesome..... Nice way to start the day!!!! I remember back in the early 2000's at the local music store (which is no longer in business RIP) the owner ended up getting sued over messing up this guys Gibson acoustic. Instead of repairing the bridge the correct way he drilled holes and bolted the bridge down. That guy didn't deal Gibson or fender he was always pushing Austin, and samicks.. always said gibson and fender were overpriced junk...

I just figured out why it doesn't have a truss rod in it it was the middle of WW2. 👍

It’s nice and straight! Maybe it has a non adjustable ebony one.
