Hi Michael, I don't wish to be pendantic; however, I believe the chord progression is : the 1 (G major) to the 3 altered (B major) to the 4 (C major))... then the 4 as a minor ( Cminor).... am I mistaken? It is used in Beatles songs and a great use of it in "The Air that I breathe" by the Hollies and beautifully covered by KD Lang. Try following the root of each chord with its 3rd.
@Jim_Thomas_DraperАй бұрын
Yeah, Radiohead actually had to pay royalties to The Hollies due to Creep's similarly to The Air That I Breathe (mostly because they also borrowed part of the melody)

Yeah so - I screwed up big. The moment I listened back to this I was like OMG it’s BMA! How on death did I mess this up?! But these are live & unedited… and I’m human. So I posted it instead of doing it over and faking it. Regardless … the “hard 3” as I like to call it (3 ma) is such a great change and really elevates the tune. As Michael knese suggested, follow the 3rds. Having the D# is brutal and brilliant. Thx brother!!

Makes sense. Radiohead famously don't really like this song and they went years without playing it at all, though they do occasionally surprise the fans by performing it live. It's a pretty basic song compared to what they wrote later in their careers, and there's a lot to play with when covering it. Point is they don't have an ego about keeping this song close to the chest, and this cover is phenomenal.

Prince hated ppl doing cover of his songs but if he covered yours it was an honor. I would feel the same way. He was amazing. ❤
@gfanarakos6 сағат бұрын
not true cause many of his songs were given to Chakha Kan, Alicia Keys, Cindy Lawper, Bangles, The Familly ,Sinnead O Conor to do covers , Kate Bush, Martika and many others sampled him plus he contributed to singers with his aid to Madonna, want more proof ..Stevie Nicks even Mc Hammer . How can you be so surface educated on Prince? Prince had only issues when the song meaning and vibe of it was changed. Sinnead O Connor did that but he liked the song. Prince adored Chaka and his idol Joni Mitchell.. How this is a tale but in reality Prince gave so many of his songs and spanned the carree of The Time, Sheila E, Shenna Easton. Its ridiculous. Prince always believed to his songs could be better so if it was not him (Thats why every live video is different compared to radio edit)he would give it to artists he believed worth it a try. How about Esperanza Spalding live cover if i was your girlfriend or Janelle Moneai covering Lets go crazy. How about his bands helping them to produce in Paisley Park he also created. Prince never hated being covered he hated to be unfair on him and challenged everybody. Radiohead told him he was wrong and he let it on to publicity which obvious was a mistake ..just that

Prince blocked this for years from KZbin. Radiohead was pissed because they said it was their song and he has no business trying to control it. They were honored he covered it and liked his version very much. But they were upset he controlled his version. Prince was always this way. He wanted to release only what he thought was worthy of release. He wished everyone to see him live and not via leaked footage. I respect him for this. But it did hurt him early on. But in the long run, prince was right again. He was always way ahead of his time and the curve.
