Habitual Line Stepper is most certainly a reference to the Chapelle Show skit about Rick James, as told by Charlie Murphy. He described how Rick James was the type to poke and prod people until he finally crossed the line. It's a hilarious skit. Besides that, this is such an amazing song. The latter half is just unreal.

Without a doubt. Periphery is never serious with their song titles and they're huge fans of Chappelle's show I'm sure so there's no doubt

The funny thing is if you Google habitual line stepper, it says song by Periphery but the first video it shows is Chappelle's show lmfao right at the top of the page. It's definitely a reference to that. Periphery loves referencing shit they like even if it's irrelevant to the song This is the best song on the album hands down and you said it perfectly. Best melodies, and heaviness and its one of the things that makes Periphery great. The way they can transition from heaviness to beautiful music is flawless and unique. No one does it quite like they do

This song is structured and progresses in such a P3 kinda way, but could easily belong in P2 for its rawness

it shows typical elements from P2, P3 AND P4, such a diverse song, luv it 🤘🤘

Thanks for reacting to this gem. You heard of Opeth? You probably did but if not you should react to them
@alekoshred3 жыл бұрын
i love me some sad depressed Opeth like 'hope leaves' and 'in my time of need' but i haven't explored much of their stuff apart from 2-3 other songs, might just do in my spare time today 😁🤘

One of my favs, if you’ve never heard of Archspire you should react to their song human murmuration or involuntary doppelgänger
