Need some help getting your guitar playing sounding fresh and interesting?
Here’s a little-known guitarist secret so you can instantly solo in any key!
📘 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘁 ➜ www.guitarmast...
Pentatonic scales - They’re the go to for almost every guitar player when it comes to guitar solos.
And maybe you’ve also tried the CAGED system to solo too.
Sure CAGED is great to know - but what you want right now are the tools and knowledge to play your great sounding solos as quickly as possible right?
➥ Grab Your Lesson Reference Material: www.guitarmast...
So here’s where you might be going wrong when it comes to the pentatonic scale and playing guitar solos.
Rather than using fragments of the pentatonic scale to be creative and come up with cool sounding licks to add to your solos…
As many as 99% of my guitar students have become completely trapped by it. And as a result, all your creativity is being sucked from your guitar playing!
The pentatonic box is going to save your guitar solos and make it completely effortless to come up with cool licks and ideas in just seconds.
Instead of using the entire pentatonic scale which makes us feel like we constantly have to be moving around the frets and bouncing up and down strings…
The pentatonic box forces us to be creative using just a small chunk of the pentatonic scale.
Limiting the amount of notes on your guitar means you can now maximize your ideas and really squeeze everything you can out of every note.
Combine this with your free Fretboard Conveyor Belt cheat sheet, and you’ll now have some fresh lead licks and patterns you can instantly plug into your solos.
You’ll never be stuck playing boring guitar solos ever again.
📘 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲!

Started "playing" guitar at age 12 back in 1971, played in bar bands from 1978 to 1995, and , yet, I've learned more about guitar in the past 2 years from GMM than I did in all the years before--I am now 63 and , honestly, can now admit it was all guesswork before, meaning I could learn songs but i couldn't "actually" play guitar, like soloing and improvising, and , now I can, and with confidence--only wish GMM had been around 50 years ago , or, at the very least, someone could have just told me instead of me poking around .

Absolutely a gem of a video ! Funny I applied this approach just a few days ago. Except I started on the 4th string (2nd octave) and played the high strings. All 5 shapes Major and Minor up and down the neck. Keeping my mind (trained) on that. This vid focuses on the backside of the scales. Point is, it's cutting the big honking scales in half. Simplifying a smaller group of notes. This approach easily helps locate the roots. Mini shapes within the big shapes. It's GOLDEN !!! You did a fantastic job !

Amazing. I've been doing this quite a while. When faced with learning five different pentatonic shapes I decided there must be an easier way. When you follow this approach you can slide from one pentatonic box to the next and essentially get ANYWHERE on the neck you want to play. One shape for all positions, both major and minor. The boxes fit together like checkers on a checkerboard! Plus, once you are in a particular position you can expand and use the entire pentatonic scale at that position if the musicality needs it. I'm glad to see someone cover this for everyone.

It’s very smart to suggest starting with fewer notes in the box. That box to a beginner is scary. Recently I started learning triad inversions. I like that I’m only learning one key at a time on 1 string set at a time. It’s not as overwhelming and you’re so right you can focus more on being creative. Creativity for most keeps learning the guitar, or any instrument fun. Thanks for another great lesson!

Yours is the first lead tutorial I've even remotely understood. So many thanks for that. Mind you, I didn't really get the part about minor and major changes in the pentatonic scale. Am I supposed to use the major notes when the chord's a major, and use the minor notes only when the song is in the minor key? I might need to play this video a couple of times before it all sinks in., but I'm really encouraged so far. 👍
