Anyone can be guitarist, but not anyone is a good teacher. Majestic, thanks a lot.

Love your channel Eddie… Even watching things I have known for years and just rethinking them gives a new perspective. However… Two opposite (VISUAL) views of the scale may be very confusing to newer guitarists. Just my observation and opinion!

So the A maj pentatonic is also essentially the F# minor pentatonic? (bar the missing F# root note)
@OnwardAndEdward12 сағат бұрын
Yes! F# minor is the relative minor to A Major

so will this shape work in sometime other a minor and major. ? like if you wanna split in a different key?

So,do we search for a "A", blues backing track? And go from there,correct? Great lesson guitar player, hehe.🤘🎸✌😜

I'm not 100% sure i understand why the A major pentatonic works when the song is in A minor. Is it bc A major is equivalent to f# minor which is the submediant of A minor? But isnt F major the submediant? Im confused...

It doesn’t *really* work playing A Major pentatonic over an A minor progression BUT in a blues where you’re dealing with 7th chords, you can get away with Major and minor pentatonic since the A7th chord contains a Major 3rd and a minor 7th. Both of those critical notes allow you to imply Major and minor with the pentatonic scale. Hope that made sense!

Yes it did, thanks!😊
