This is so rare. What are the chances that my all time favorite musician is also an incredibly entertaining and insightful speaker. I enjoy the heck out of these live streams. Thank you.

It takes hours (days, even weeks?) to know all your solo stuff. People who love your work with Dead&co also could invest a little more time in your music, since it's very varied and most of it isn't recorded to an album. And also, every live performance of a song is different

I skipped around a bit looking for guitar stuff but instead heard some interesting thoughts. One thing you said about wanting to hang out and live a day in the shoes of a typical domestic person reminded me of a couple things. One is the song “Common People” by Pulp. The other is a surreal scenario I’ve imagined where I’m just going about my business driving somewhere and a high profile person like Obama or somebody mysteriously appears in the passenger seat of my car. After a moment of like “what the hell just happened,” we kind of work together to get that individual back to their usual orbit. In the process we learn a bit about what’s the same or different between us. Props for getting your thoughts out there. Leonard Cohen sang somewhere “I hope your keeping some kind of record,” and clearly you are.

That is some funny @$$ $#!+ right there... The best guitar player of his generation in my book - the most original for sure - and freakin' funny to boot. Not privileged to know the guy, but he sure comes across as genuine.

I am an old Deadhead (since '78 for perspective). I love your interpretations of Dead tunes (I have played really bad guitar since just before you were born). You, my friend, are a trip. You're clearly smart as fuck, interested in all sorts of various shit (anything? everything?) which indicates a very curious nature, and I respect that (as a teacher, I value it and hope for it in my students). And, you're a fucking knucklehead, who seems to have no shame (which I respect, and see nothing -- via the Google machine -- for you to be ashamed of). You're a fucking guitar monster, and when you're feeling and channeling Jerry, we olds feel it too. And, thanks for giving Bob a way to shine. And, I can tell Bill and you love each other. He knows how to rock with great guitar players. I assume I am right that he enjoys playing with you, and vice versa. Just wanted to say hi and thanks for helping Jerry's kids keep on truckin. ( I chose to comment because I read to students that way, still. Read to your loved ones. Learn to read upside down.)
