Just_a_metal_head_2005 Playing it on the A and D strings was my thing also. I know that’s how I do it on the Iron Man vid. But I don’t believe that’s how Iommi played it.

@@Mr.Tabs.Guitar.Lessons In most live vids it looks like has playing it on the same strings but 3 frets lower in the key of Dmin, gives it a real dark sound, check this vid kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZbRYoaspbmmj80 I'm guessing it depends on the venue etc idn. Your version is spot on though, I've picked up on several things I was missing or getting wrong without even realising, for example, the little A shape at the end of the chord progression I was playing as a power chord, didn't think it sounded quite right lol some nice little embellishments in the solo I was missing too, thanks for the help!

No, just Nooo ! Dont give up ! I know, in the beginning, it looks like ultra difficult. But with time and practice you can get very good. I would recommend that you learn at first 3 or 4 chords, powerchords. E5, G5 and A5. With only these 3 you can already have much fun. And then you are hooked and want to get more and more.

Am 63 and have worked to many hours my whole life but have time to play now. Took us more than a year to learn to read and write. Each struggle gets easier as you go. Each accomplishment give you confidence. Have fun! Too much info just on U-tube not to keep trying.

Started playing maybe 5 months ago. I for one have struggled with learning guitar but I have kept playing and having fun as the journey to learning guitar is both difficult at times frustrating but also very rewarding. Give it a go man paranoid is actually not a hard song and I learnt it (apart from the solo) very quickly. Also my dad age 54 just started playing, he struggles a lot and progresses slowly but he loves it.

Sounds like your guitar isn't setup properly for bends. Take it to a shop and get it setup for bends. Use 9's as your strings.

No it wasn’t it sounded right but it was off Black Sabbath played that song on the ninth and the 7th fret pulling off from the 9th to the 7th on the a and d the the e power chord is the 7 and the e and a and u can also add another 9 in there to make it 7-9-9 hammering on the the ninth with an open e is how the song is actually recorded
