Thank you for the delicious recipe. The correct word is DHOKRA as it is called among gujaratis as this a Gujarati dish.

Chilly pest is a must for dhokla, eno must be added at last after steamer gets ready as once u start activate it u have work very fast within seconds it looses it's effect and Ur dhokla becomes harfd

I tried it came very nice. Inlaws love it. But dhokla was not spongy as regular dhoklas. Any tip or do i did wrong. But the taste was awesome.

Hi Archana, the doklas looked appealing and I tried the receipe except that there was little water on the top of doklas but the doklas were cooked well,is it because I had not put any plate on top of the vessel? Can you help me in this matter?

It happens all the time. The steam does collect and deposit, and simply drain out the liquids.

Also batter needs little resting of 1/2 hr..your steamer has to be hot before you put it for steaming

You can roast it or use it plain as well . I have done it both ways and it turns out good - provided the sooji is fresh

Hi Sonali - it will be hard to get the right texture if you skip adding the Dhokla

The peppy jazz music in the background is a bit distracting. One associates fast background music with fast actions on the screen. You might want to tone it down a bit.

Hi ...I was searching for ragi based dishes🤔...as my in-law got bored of ragi dosa😔I found this..but I have a doubt...can I add chopped onions in tis mixture.?.so far I haven't tasted tis one..

Hi Kiruthiga - onions might leave water and make the dish soggy. I suggest you do it without onions.

An error - You have listed oats in the description of the video but you do not use oats in the preparation.

Food made with a bit of twist especially with ragi usually tastes a bit different when compared to the traditional ones. Once you only keep eating this, our palates will get used to it.
