I don't get why some people says Gumi is a stalker. When I heard Lie, I though that the point was that Luka IS in love with Gumi, but can't accept it, so she starts a fake relationship with Kaito (the one who will sing the third song, according to CircusP), and that relationship is a lie, just like everytime she says herself she doesn't love Gumi she lies to herself. I dunno, this is what makes the most sense to me. To me, this looks like a tragic love story, not some dark stalking thing. Has CircusP said anything about the plot of the songs? I think we need his word here to clear things up.

This is how i interpret the story Luka and Gumi are in love. Majorly in love. After listening to the outside world, however, Luka starts to think that their love isn't real love. As a result, she starts to pretend that she doesn't love Gumi. She starts lying to and ignoring Gumi. Luka then starts dating a guy to prove to the world that she's normal. Gumi believes and falls for everything. But, unlike Luka, she's not ready to pretend that she doesn't love her old girlfriend. She tries to keep her distance to prevent heartache, but she can't fight back and eventually starts trying to show how much she loves Luka so that Luka will love her again. It's really sad and also pretty realistic, but this is my interpretation.

I don't know.. In I(love), Gumi said it was a basic test and experiment so maybe Luka wanted to try going out with a girl (Gumi) and left Gumi thinking she was done with her "test" and she didn't realize until now that she actually fell in love with Gumi and doesn't want to except it. Gumi, this whole time loved her and doesn't want to see her with the guy she's right now dating and is trying to make her comeback to her. Luka doesn't want to be thought if as a lesbian is trying to push Gumi and her feelings away. That is what I think now...

My interpretation to this song: I think it's possibly the beginning of 'Lie' and “¼”. Here’s why. In 'I (love)', Gumi says how she loves a girl, how she "won't let him take her away from her", how she “won’t let her do this to herself”. At the end, she also says, “I want you, I deeply need you, I won’t forget you”, which leads to the next song, ‘Lie’. In ‘Lie’, Luka frequently says, “I don’t want you, I don’t need you, I’ll forget you”, but proceeds 4 lines later with, “I love you”. This brings me to believe that Gumi and Luka were probably in love, but even though Gumi thought it was okay, Luka wasn’t ready to accept that she was lesbian. Luka would then proceed to get a boyfriend, Kaito, to prove to herself that she’s straight. I back this up with the line in ‘I (love)’ where Gumi says, “I won’t let you do this to yourself”. That would mean that Gumi knows Luka is lesbian, and wants Luka to “embrace” it. At the end of ‘Lie’, Luka says, “Maybe someday I’ll get to see your smile in the arms of someone who loves you like I do” and we see Gakupo in the arms of Gumi. This would lead many people to believe that she loves Gakupo and Gumi loves him too, but I believe that it’s the opposite. I think that she finally accepts that she loves Gumi and wants her to be happy after the pain that she caused her. Now, on to ‘¼’. Kaito goes on saying, “Was it me or, are you not feeling this feeling the same?”, indicating that he loves Luka, but that he notices that she doesn’t seem to love him. He also says, “Was I wrong, was there no you and me?”, meaning that he’s starting to realize that Luka wasn’t really into the relationship. In the second pre-chorus, he says, “Is it true, or are you not feeling this feeling the same?”, meaning that he probably heard a rumour about Luka being lebian. Finally, at the end of the song, he says, “I guess I didn’t matter to you. The worst part, I always knew”, proving that Luka wasn’t dating him because she loved him, but because didn’t want to accept that she wasn’t straight. That’s just my interpretation. A thought also crossed my mind… Circus-P said that these songs were inspired by his life. What if… :D

My interpretation of the story. "Lie" was about how Luka did love Gumi but wasn't ready to say she was lesbian. But unlike Gumi she was ready to admit it "I(Love)" . Gumi loves Luka deeply but knows she won't admit to it. Luka starts dating a guy who abuses her in many ways "Circus Monster" and she starts to realize she did love Gumi. But Gumi had already committed suicide before Luka finds out. So Luka tries to figure out why she doesn't see Gumi anymore and that's why she says "why are you not here?" And "I want to see you I need to see you" (in "Circus Monster") because she wanted to see Gumi. But she was already gone. Which is what makes the depressing story.

Many years ago, I was in a friendship where I felt like Gumi. I really loved my best friend. I think I loved her romantically. I was so young (12~13) so it's hard for me to tell. All I can say is that she was the first and only person I've ever felt the way I did for. No relationship I've had since then has ever been anything like that friendship I had with that girl. A new girl came around that became friends with my friend, and I hated it. I listened to this song and always replaced "him" with "her" and pretended like I was singing the song to my old friend and the new girl who replaced me. I used to listen to Lie a lot when I was younger. It was a favorite. I stopped listening to vocaloids for years afterwards and now that I'm learning that Lie actually has a story below the surface & isn't a song written to be taken a face value makes me appreciate it more. Elizabeth Frost One doesn't specifically need to be a homosexual female or guy just to understand the feeling of loving another of the same gender. If you understand love itself, you can understand the feelings of someone in love, no matter who they are in love with. Guys can understand it just as well as women. I get your point though, for me as a guy, for when I write a story, to understand or even come up with the female point of view, because I've never experienced it. I know this is such an old song, running 5 years now, but I've listened to it so much and I can relate to both sides - so I guess this my interpretation of the two songs. Gumi's "I (Love)" is kind of the devil on your shoulder when going through an emotional separation, what you want to say to the other person in the relationship/friendship. But you keep it all bottled in, you want to put on a front that you're happy for them and that you'll move on. Luka's "Lie" is the front you put on during this time. That you're going to move on as well, that they should go, that you don't love them anymore.

oddly enough i can really relate to these lyrics. the person who i was best friends for a long time, well, i ended up falling in love with her. almost to the point of being obsessed. however, here's the catch; she loved someone else so much more than me. she was obsessed with him, more than she'll ever be with me. she knows i love her, i've told her before and she's told me she loves me as well, however i doubt it. no matter how many times i ask, no matter how many times i tell her to be honest, it's always the same response. "i love you, i'm being honest!' but i can't feel her love. i cannot feel the sincerity in her words. she says i'm on her mind a lot, but i fucking doubt it. she's always so obsessed with texting that dumbass everyday, and they break up and get back together a whole fucking lot. i hate that guy. the mention of his name, his appearance, his voice... every single thing makes me pissed. it makes my stomach turn. it makes me want to go on a god damn rampage. she's never worried about me, always worried about him. always wants to talk to him, always focusing on him, always so fucking desperate to just text him. no, they do not know each other in real life. they met online. yes, i know her in real life. she cries only for him. and yes, though i may seem selfish of me to say this, but i just want her to be worried for once and cry for me. not for him. not because they got into some dumb fucking argument. not because he's upset.i keep my mouth shut, i do things on my own, i handle my own problems, i avoid causing anything between us and i've done this for so god damn long. it's stressful. it's created anger and rage for me. i do everything for her. i worry for her, i offer to give her help, i'm always by her side when she asks for me, i'm always trying to make sure she's doing fine and she's safe. feels like i've been taken advantage of, though. like i was some tool, just some useful stool. that's my fault, of course. it's my fault for allowing these things to happen to me. why? because this entire time i could've stood up for myself, but i continued to sugarcoat shit and allow her to take over me and influence my choices. fucking hell. it feels like i'm nothing to her, after all she's never concerned about me. she says that the guy she talks to, which we'll call him a god damn squash, is sooooo strong because he's gone through so much! that he's so advaaanccceeed and smarrrtt. oh yes, now that really pissed me off. i still remember the day when she told me he was actually really smart and advanced and kept putting me off and implying that i was stupid compared to him. sure, i'll admit i may not be all that smart or talented educationally. i may not be fucking albert einstein. but i don't think knowledge that has to do with education makes one smart, but their self-awareness and awareness in general of reality. not because they could fucking solve 2+2 at one month old as a baby. sure, that's advanced, but that's not what always makes a person knowledgeable. it is their perception of the world, being aware of what's surrounding them, being able to be realistic in situations, apply logic and be rational, etc. but hey, you know what? he doesn't live up to my standards of "advanced" but regardless, i don't give a fuck if someones advanced or not, that doesn't make up their personality. it's them who makes up who they are. fuck you and your dumbass bullshit about "OMG HE'S ADVANCED AND SUPER STRONG HE';S GONE THROUGH SO MUCH POOR BABY AND HE CRIED WITH ME IN A VOICE CALL" yeah, fuck you. now hear me out, i know i said i love her but i do. it's just... this all pisses me off. of course i'm fucking angry. of course i'm saying these things. i've gone so off track now but guess this is my rant of the day, youtube. not even done yet, though. haha, surprise. and then she says that nobody loves her. what?... WHAT...? i express my love for you a lot, but you don't even do that to me. instead, you push me away for him. you love him so much. you want him so much. fine, it doesn't even matter if you love him. i just wish you'd be honest and sincere with me. i just wish you'd understand. it's so hard to talk to you, so hard to do anything for or with you. i love you, but do you love me? or do you just love the pleasure? i'll just have to move on and find someone else. it's hard, but it's time to put mind over matter. love ya, but i know we wouldn't have a good future together anyways lol

***** Circus Monster isn't related to the other two songs, it is a stand-alone song from what I can tell. Lie is about Luka trying to be with KAITO, but being in love with Gumi, and she expresses how her love for KAITO is a lie. I (Love) is about how Gumi is trying to "save" Luka from lying to herself and to give up on KAITO and be with her. The third song is supposedly going to be a take on KAITO's view and how he feels watching the girl that he cares about being taken from him, etc etc. I read that these songs were part of a trilogy, but I apologize, because I can't remember where I read it.

Story: Luka was in a relation ship with Gumi, until Gumi was gone to be with Gakupo. After Luka noticing Gumi won’t be gone sooner enough, she whimpered down lane: “I’m done.” Street. This wasn’t the way it was supposed to go. She held a whole song about Gumi and her self, separate and finally found Gumi with her friend since. Luka was completely left out. After, Luka started to “make” (It was fake,) with Kaito. When GUMI noticed, she had realized she had made a dumb, silly, and brainless mistake. (She had fallen in the trap,) but unfortunately she doesn’t know, that it’s all fake. Now it’s all about her to fight herself, and now in shame, for starting to lose her one and only, love, and friend.
