GUN Cleaning Test O-Ring Jag

We carry out an experiment to compare the O-Ring design jag with a conventional jag for cleaning a rifle barrel. We clean part of the barrel with each type of Jag and look at the results with a bore camera. Does the O-Ring Jag clean better? See the results of the test. Gun cleaning is a critical process to maintain an accurate rifle. Selecting the correct type of Jag makes a difference!

The results are what you might expect because the chamber end of the barrel was dirtier to begin with. You need to repeat the test this time using the conventional jag at the chamber end and compare the results. The O-ring jag will undoubtedly still do a better job but only a comparison will indicate the degree of improvement.

Is a cloth patch supposed to hurt a barrel? I see zero harm in this. Reversing a brush could bind the bristles but what is a jag and a patch going to harm?

I just bought one of these O-Ring jags from Keith and Joanne at Ozzistraightshooter and I am very much impressed. Firstly by the excellent personal and right on the ball service they give, secondly by their willingness to spend time explaining stuff and helpful phone advice and lastly by the quality of their products. So far as this type of jag goes it does everything Keith said it would. I had already given my 338 WinMag what I thought cwas a really good cleaning but on receiving this jag I thought I'd have another go. It felt like firm even pressure all the way down from the bore guide right to the very muzzle. I was still able to get more crud even when I thought there could be nothing left Great product and thoroughly recommend anyone to use it. I have no doubt that this jag will save me lots of time in the future and I'm going to order more for my other calibres
