Agreed, Had this happen at Fisherman’s Marine and Outdoor tried them several times and each time they're just assholes to us at the gun counter.. Don't know what's up their ass. They typecast us immediately and have decided we don't fit in their category or whatever and literally ignore us, but will treat other people just fine. But we go to other shops and get treated amazingly. So you got to just remember those stores and those become your "home store" but it shouldn't be that way. And I still don't understand what gets up their ass. Maybe they just literally don't know and are total assholes.. which is scary. :( but some people they immediately welcome just fine. I just don't know.

Chance Paladin sometimes they work 13 hours straight and are tired, haven't taken a break, because every time they try to leave the floor, they get stopped by customers and don't want to be perceived as assholes, so they tell themselves as soon as they are done with this customer, then they can finally go take that shit, they have been holding in since the shop opened 6 hours ago. There is always that possibility. But, who gives a fuck about the employees... they are just elitist assholes that don't want to sell product and keep their job. Yeah, fuck retail workers.

I was the Sporting Goods manager of a Woolworth in the Detroit metropolitan area. I took it upon myself to learn everything I could about everything we sold. I tried to be as helpful as possible. Just before waterfowl season three guys walk up to my counter and ask if we have any semiautomatic shotguns. I say yes we have Remington 1100s. We even have a combo set on sale right now. It comes with two barrels. One with a set of screw in chokes. One Rifled barrel for slugs for deer hunting. I ended up selling them each one of the combo kits. the next day 8 more guys show up sent by the other two and want the combo kits. I only had 6 left in storage. I called the 3 closest stores to see if they had any they could transfer to our store. No joy. I call our distributor and he agrees to send me 4 overnight delivery no extra cost. I sold them all. The 2 guys that came back the next day each brought a friend with them. I was awarded salesman of the year that year. I love working customer service jobs. I particularly like working gun counters. It is very gratifying to help someone get the right gun for them.

Woolworth's was excellent in the mid 1980's. I was in a Woolworth's in Stamford, CT in 1985. And the Sporting Goods Dept had a crap load of surplus WWII, M-1's and M-1 carbines. I purchased 2 of each and could pick from 100's they had in stock. I still have these firearms to this day.

Rick S That's when I worked there. We had a bunch of Lee Enfield both in the original .303 and those rechambered to .308. I bought one of the rechambered ones and it was a tack driver. I sold quite a few surplus rifles.

Kind of late to the party here, but when I was about 19 my friends and I walked into a local gun shop to look around for a bit. My buddy was looking to get his first rifle so we were looking at a few on display, when one of the employees, an older gentleman with a Vietnam veteran hat, asked us if we like guns. We responded respectfully with a pretty resounding yes, and he snapped back at us to say we were wasting our time and his, and that if we loved guns so much we should join the military and serve our country. It was very offputting and caused us to leave without spending anything. Thankfully we found another store close by with very friendly employees, or that likely would have completely ruined our idea of gun shops.

used to have a guy named terry that worked the counter at a local pawn/gun store. he sold and installed the collapsible stock on my neutered bushmaster ar i bought from there on my 18th birthday back in 04. he was great and friendly, always happy to let me see the guns, tell me about flipping on the rock and roll switch when he was in the service, recommend ammo for my carry and plinking, opened sunday mornings so HE would be the one selling us ammo and targets before we went out to shoot and my favorite part...he ALWAYS carried a COLT 1911. when i asked him why, he said cuz he likes to make a lot of noise hahaha...he passed away a few years ago though. rest in peace.

When i bought my first firearm, I told the sales guy my situation (being 21 and never fired a gun in my life and wanting an entry-level pistol to learn how to protect my home) and he immediately goes into showing me all the handguns they have that are good for hunting... I'm talking revolvers with 6 and 7 inch barrels and asking me what kind of game animals I hunt... like, brother? Did you not just hear me say Ive never fired a gun in my life? Why in God's name would i dump $1000+ on a handgun, first time?? My game animal of choice?? Criminals in my house??

I wanted the biggest concealable 9mm I could carry for a 6'4 300lb guy for my 1st gun. Lmao. After talking to the 3 gun salesman, and them letting me hold every gun I pointed at. Finally settled on the Sig P320 Compact... 4 pistols later and a revolver, the Sig is my favorite. Heavy as shit after 3 hours of carrying though.

It’s a valid question for a first time buyer. If it’s a pistol that will sit next to your bed and not be carried, weight is not as important. But for an experienced shooter like me, I know what I am looking for.

At the time i was about 18 years old. I recently purchased my first firearm, a Mosin, and I was looking for ammo. I went into a local gun shop. After wandering about for 15-20 minutes I went to the counter and nervously asked if they had any 7.62x54r, the guy says yes. I went back to the table and looked around again. Unable to locate it on the table, i asked again, and all he did was vaguely point at the ammo table. Finally, i was able to speculate that I had found the right ammo, (it was mil-surp paper wrapped with no label) and went to purchase the ammo. He was rude and not helpful at all. That was the last time I went to that shop, and have been recommending against that place since than. I would like to add that this was the shops owner. (Johns in Winchester, NH)

Shortly after receiving my Green Card I went to my local Cabellas for a browse. I noticed the gun counter was not busy so I walked up and explained to the clerk that I had recently received my Green Card. She congratulated me, and then said, "So now you want to buy a gun." I explained that I didn't at the moment, but would be interested to check out some 9mm semi-automatics. She was so very helpful in showing me a RUger LC9S, Shield, Glocks, and a few others. I asked if I could dry them, she agreed. She knew a sale wasn't on the cards, but she was so very helpful I felt guilty after thanking her for time and patience. This to me is how a newbie should be treated in a gun store for the time when able to buy a gun for the first time! Full marks to Cabellas and that clerk Incidentally, I was able to show some degree of knowledge from watching many KZbin videos. Maybe that helped me to ask relevant questions. Great Channel guys!

Despite the legitimacy of the story, I’ve dealt with several “know it all, my word is law” shop staff, as well as staff that could care less if they made a sale that day as their $10.50 an hour isn’t earned by making sure I buy their merch. So now I walk into shops, feel the merch and compare for a final decision, then I buy online. They don’t talk back or give me shit lol. Just a better price.

I know of a petite little 100lbs nurse who had a gun salesman sell her a Taurus Judge as her first handgun for home defense. Just so bad. After shooting it for the first time she wanted to sell the gun and never own a gun again. Thankfully we were there with her and had her shoot our 9mms and she like those, sold her Judge at a loss, and got a semi auto 9mm. Man I was pissed at that gun salesman.

I walk into a local gun shop and I was listening and sort of watching these kids 18-20 years of age playing around with a ar15. He pointed the muzzle what I believe to be unintentionally at almost everyone one in the store. The. I walked up to the kids and told them not to be pointing it at anyone. They laughed and pointed it at me. I took it from them and headed up to the sales counter and told the sales representative and they said well it wasn't loaded. I've never been back.

First, good for you man. Second, about the only thing else to do would be to talk to the manager and proceed to re-train him/her on the basics of firearm safety loudly in front of everyone, so that they all know that the staff are unqualified to even speak about guns. These would be gun owners need to learn this stuff and the sooner the better. I've seen my fair share of ignorance at gun ranges, and if nobody taught them then they don't know any better. It's their responsibility to find out, but when they do seek the knowledge there needs to be grown-ups (any age) to show them the way. So just like safety is everybody's job, so is basic firearm knowledge especially safety and handling issues. It's just ridiculous that you were the only one to even say anything to them and the staff completely enabled them. Obviously they put sales above all else including whether or not one of these kids shoots somebody some day.

My first gun store experience was when I bought my first pistol, a 1911 .45ACP. The guy was extremely knowledgeable, mentions he carries that very same pistol himself, asked him a few more questions, but I didn't have my updated license with my current address on it, so I had to leave the shop for the day, keep the guns on layaway until the morning. Went back next morning, the guy was working there and my fiance and I walked out with four boxes of ammunition, her .38 special J frame S&W revolver, my 1911, a concealed carry purse for her, and a holster for the 1911. This is what customer service is about. I worked in customer service since I was 17, so it's a big deal to me to have good customer service. To this day, my buddies, fiance, and I only see two guys in that shop, one's an ex detective, the other's a competition shooter, and they're basically walking encyclopedias with amazing customer service. In that same shop, I will never do business with one older gentlemen, whose kind of an ass. He always treated my buddies and I like we were wasting his time, and would always roll his eyes when I asked a question. Like seriously? I treat everyone with respect, but being an ass to me, and acting like helping me out is out of your way when it's your job is something that instantly makes me wanna see someone else. Hence why I recommend only those two salesmen in that shop to my friends and family.

Welcome to the real world where respect must be earned. When I was young, the same disrespect was directed my way by older guys who had been there, done that. Best policy is to educate yourself, stay humble, and offer productive input/assistance over the course of time, as opportunity permits. A few thoughtful words and actions will in time earn respect with some. Keep in mind, though, that with each new person encountered, the process of earning respect begins again. It's a process that never really ends, although with age, it gets easier.

A local gun shop/Bait Shop out here gave a customer a loaded hunting rifle (with a round in the freaking chamber) to show him how much it weighed loaded. The customer then forgot it was loaded, thought he was about to dry fire gun and proceeded to fire a round of 30-06 through the back of the store.

About a year ago me and my dad went into a Bass Pro Shop to buy an AK and the sales clerk said "We don't sell those to your kind." and i was left speechless, like wtf does that mean. after that situtuation me and my dad decided to go to a Mom and Pop shop and the guys there were alot more polite and helpful then the guy at bass pro was. The guy at the mom and pop shop even gave us free ammo from his personal collection. From that point on me and my dad decided we'd only buy from Mom and Pop shops after that.

I've worked at a gun shop for almost 9 months now and I have a decent knowledge of firearms simply from growing up around them and being highly interested in them. I will be the first to tell you I don't know everything, and the most important thing I have learned from working in the industry is being able to tell people you don't know something. Being honest is the most important thing and you will be well respected for being honest, rather than lying and making something up. Great video guys!

Worst service I've ever had was at the Palmetto State Armory in Greenville SC. Purchased a Psak47 G2. Knew what I wanted so I spent very little time talking the first time. Took it home, dumped 200 rounds. Sights wouldnt hold zero past 5 shots. Took it back. They gave me every excuse under the sun and all these reasons why, or how I could fix it, and one kid even tried to tell me I needed optics and iron sights were useless. Finally after an hour, they got the store manager on the phone, who told the rang manager to test it out. He sighted it in, and sure as shit, after 5 rounds it had lost zero. They gave me another one, ran another 100 there this one and the same problem. Took it back and they sent it off. 2 Months later, after calling EVERY WEEK and getting no info, I go up there and demand to speek to the manager! He comes out and informs me that he was authorized 3 WEEKS EARLIER that he could offer me an upgrade. At this point I was already pissed! So he comes out of the back with a new ak that has all magpul furniture and the stock I wanted, so I start to relax, but my dad convinces new to pop it open first... and there it is. The bolt carrier is seriously deformed. So I told him to bring me another one. Same thing! Deformed bolt carrier. At this point I demand a refund and he refuses. So I demand my rifle with the effed up sights back and he refuses. So at this point I start to call the sheriffs department while my dad googled how to contact the ATF. Before the phone stops ringing he has my cash played out on the counter. I went across the street to cabelas and bought a different ak. Never been happier. Fuck PSA

I like to act like a dumbass when I go into a new gun store. The last one I went to, the guy spent over an hour showing me guns and answering sometimes blatantly stupid questions. Total professional the whole time, very patient, not pushy. I left without buying anything, which he seemed to have no problem with. He's on my list of folks to buy from now. You never know who you're dealing with, so always be nice.

I was selling sporting goods when the NICS debacle debuted; so over 20 yrs ago, internet infancy and pre smart phone. I had for the prior 15 yrs read every Gun magazine I could lay my hands on. I worked in a mostly "FUDD" store. Whenever a customer had a question I didn't know the answer to I was honest and said, "Good question, I don't know, but let me look." Then I would either look in the distributor book, the manufacturer's brochure (which I read and saved a copy of each), look in the owner's manual, ask our in store "Ray", or call the distributor/manufacturer; sometimes I did all of these to find an answer. Just be honest with your customers and if you don't know, just say so, but offer to find out. Also, and this is for you salesmen, when a customer says they're "just looking"....reply with these words....."We encourage touching." It's a great ice breaker and your sales will go up. YWVM.

STORY: I live in a fairly large town in Vermont, and right above the only movie theater in town. I grew up in the sticks, where on multiple occasions I would shoot from inside the house (like if it was raining). That being the case, I didn't own a single case for my guns I just used their slings to tote them around. Well, one day I was getting back from a shoot with some friends and the parking lot was packed (it's shared with the theater) so I had to park in the way back. Trying to be as quick as I could about unloading the 12 guns I brought. I slung a rifle over each shoulder strapped three pistols to my belt and grabbed my AR in hand (it was my way of taking my favorite and most expensive guns first incase anyone had any ideas before I got back to get the rest) I tried my hardest to carry my AR in the least threatening way I could think, with the muzzle pointed down the mag out, holding it by the mag well and it facing twords my direction of travel so you could see it wasn't loaded. But, sure as sh*t, as soo as I got across the parking lot and not ten feet from my door under the street lamp. The theater let out, and about ten to twenty people came out the doors. I just said "hello" and continued on my way to get my stuff into my apartment. I quickly set my guns on the floor and went back out to get the rest, not really thinking too much about it until I heard one guy (not noticing I had come back out) say "Who even needs that many guns? He must be up to something." So I walked over to my car, lit up a cigarette and waited for the cops to show up. sure enough before I was only halfway done they came into the lot like a bat outta hell. They came upto me (I was waring a pretty identifiable hat with cat ears on it, so I probably fit the description well enough) and asked if I had seen a man with a hat like mine headed twords the theater with a fully automatic assault riffle. I said yes, and that it was me, but it wasn't a full auto. After a brief chat, in which I explained about the shoot and that I lived there and just wanted to unload my guns so I could clean them and go to bed. They shined their light in the back of my forester and saw the few milserps I had leftover after the first pass and started laughing. I told them that I did have an AR and invited them to come up and look at it if they wanted to, to prove that it wasn't being carried in an unsafe or threatening way. They said that there was no need and offered to stick around while I unloaded the rest so more people didn't freak out and asked that I get some cases to transport them in. After I got them all into my place I came back down and thanked them for how cool they where about the whole situation (could have easily rolled up guns out and been dicks the whole time) shook their hands and that was that. Now whenever I take more than a few guns out for a shoot I just swing by the station and let them know, and I usually call them to let them know when I'm done. It's a bit annoying, but it beats mass panic I guess.

My first bit of advice that I give anyone looking into guns is, get a Hornady reloading manual. Not so much for reloading, but for reading about different caliber and how they came to be. I picked Hornady because it has more calibers listed and great little backgrounds on the calibers. I also like mil-surp, therefore I point people to you guys and C&Rsenal.

Biggest gun gripe - sales staff who do not OPEN THE FREAKIN' ACTION when they hand the weapon over to you, and who DO NOT CARE that you are trying to show clear as you hand the weapon back. This is bad enough in Canada, where we have to do a short familiarisation and safety course before we get our licences. In the US, where such requirements do not exist and there is sometimes NO history of firearm ownership & safety instruction by parents or other influential adults, it's even more important that firearm safety starts in the store.

Reminds me of a recent visit to a big box store. When I asked to see a pistol from the display, the young salesman just handed it to me. I proceeded to open the action and remove the magazine. Immediately, the light bulb went on in the salesman's head and he thanked me for being conscientious in handling the weapon safely. Apparently, that is the exception there rather than the rule.

I have a story that somewhat pertains to this topic. Last week I was up at Dunhams picking up a piece of glass for my 870 deer gun (got a 3x9x50 if anyone is curious). A customer was at the counter asking about 12 ga shotguns; he was looking to deer and goose hunt. Guy behind the counter was damn near useless, pointing to mossberg 500s in 20ga, and a few random break action 410s, saying "they would be just fine for his purposes." After listening to 10 minutes of the shenanigans I stepped in, told the customer about the R870, M500, as well as an 11-87. Eventually 'sold' him a camo 11-87 that came with a slug barrel. Guy behind the counter was speechless.

Before I bought my first firearm, I learned how to shoot years prior and had shot multiple different handguns and a couple of rifles but when it came time for me to buy my first firearm (beginning of 2022) I went into one of my local gun shops and told the guy that this was going to be my first firearm and I was going to use it primarily for home defense possibly concealed carry when I got my CCW permit and I wanted to educate myself a little more on hand guns brands and calibers etc. he immediately laughed in my face and said “we see you Covid newbies all the time” and then proceeded to pull out some different handguns. I felt very uncomfortable the second he said that because I was just trying to be polite and get educated. I brushed off the comment and proceeded to inspect the firearms, I asked him if I could pick one up to get the feel of it and he nodded so I used the proper grip, trigger discipline etc and he scoffed and made another snark comment something like “well look at that, the Covid buyer knows how to properly hold a handgun” again I brushed it off and told him I’ve shot multiple different firearms before but just never owned one. After a while of him pretty much belittling me and me looking at different handguns I told him which ones I liked and then I asked him which one of the 3 that I chose would he recommend for home defense? He immediately laughed and said “none of them” then he grabbed the most expensive Daniel Defense AR he could find and said “this is what you want for home defense buddy.” I ended up buying one of the 3 handguns I liked (HK VP9) which at the time they were having a good deal on bc I knew how expensive they normally sell for. I love my handgun and have since purchased other firearms from other stores that I like and have amazing employees but I refuse to go back to the gun store after that first interaction with that guy. I was new to the gun ownership community and I went in there just trying to learn and understand more about firearms and he was insanely disrespectful in every aspect.

I recently started dating a young lady that has never shot and now is going through my ammo by the thousands after taking my (g43, shield PC, airweight .38, and g27) to the range she decided on the shield! We picked her up a Performace center ($405) two days later a gun store employee made her cry explaining that a Performace center shield was junk and she should own a Glock. (F U fanboys) after making her first purchase and really getting excited she now feels uncomfortable and won’t go to a gun shop without me. It really upsets me to think of all the women ran away from this great sport by A$$holes who want to look smart and cool in front of a good looking girl. Similar thing happened to my wife(gf at the time) we shot a bunch of different guns to find the one for her,(my PC shield, lc9s, g42, g26, pt709, TCP, LCP, bodyguard) and the one she liked the most was a ruger lc9s. The guy at the store told her having an external safety on a carry gun is dumb and she should at least get the lc9s pro since it has no safety, but that she should get a glock 42 because 9mm is too strong for a woman and glock is much better than ruger. However, she's a strong willed woman who knew what she wanted and she wanted the external safety, she didn't like the way the glock 43 fit her hand, and she raised hell with the manager because that kid had the audacity to tell her a 9mm was too powerful for a woman. Well, she got a hell of a deal on her lc9s package; an extra mag, a box of critical defense, a free range pass, free ear muffs, and they gave her a free sticky holster. Lmao

I heard a salesman tell a first time gun buyer that was interested in buying a Glock 19 that the Glock was a very ammo sensitive handgun and they have many problems with them. He then suggested looking at rugers and m&p's. Now if he was suggesting buying American I get it, but what he was saying was false and if it were true that would mean the company he works for sells products that are poor quality. He then made his way toward me and ask if I needed help and I said nope just looking and proceeded to buy a Glock from the next salesman would asked to assist me. I've had a Springfield Xd and gi 1911, both that were problematic that Springfield fixed. Glock has always worked for me, as well as s&w, sig, Hk, Walther, and Cz. But if you search hard enough and shoot enough you will see all the companies pass lemons through sometimes. I hope your problem gets fixed with your g17c because that truly is a great gun, if you get it running correctly

We have Glock rentals at the shooting range I work at. All of them have over 15 some 20,000+ rounds. The only thing I have ever replaced is a trigger spring. The only time they jam is because of user error. When they stove pipe, you're limp wristing. We have all gen 3 glocks manufactured in 2011 and are still shooting to this day. I have never seen a bad glock come through our store or shooting range. I am also not saying that glock hasn't produced a lemon. I just haven't seen one.

Gander Mt. I was there one time, and a guy was looking to buy an AR. The first thing the salesman pulled out was a Sig MCX. I was thinking... That's A) Not an AR. B) That's not what I would start out with, because it's a niche gun and also very expensive. After eavesdropping for a bit, I found that he literally had no idea that the SIG was not an AR-15. His selling point, was that the Sig didn't have the tube on the end, which made it shorter. It was the last time I ever went to the gun counter at Gander Mountain.

Llewelyn Moss I've actually had pretty good experiences with big box stores in the Dallas/Fort Worth area except for Gander Mountain. I shit you not they had a used glock for sale for 700. When I asked why it was 700 the salesman proceeded to tell me "Well if it's used you know it works" lmao I don't pay extra for a used car over a new one because I "know it works"

My cousin wanted to reload for his 270, and he bought some powder from a long standing shop, the owner sent him home with winchester 231, which blew the savage 110 to bits. It is a miracle that no one was really seriously injured.

There’s usually a clause and a no refunds on stuff like that and I think it states that the person should know themselves but it’s ridiculous like I feel like at that point the store owner should be liable or whoever was that sent him home with that

100% right on about answering questions for people who see you as having knowledge. I've sold a number of guns for Cabela's just because I was the only person with the knowledge about specific guns and the counter guys had no clue. Then comes the next guy in line knowing you don't work there, but not caring because he saw you provide great service short of handling the gun. Walmart is the worse, because they know Jack crap about firearms and would like nothing to do with them! Insert eat plugs, then get in and get the hell out!

In my area the gun shop guys are like used car salesmen. I do research and know what I want to buy based on lots of good information. These guys are condescending and tell me that I'm wrong and I need to buy the gun that they have in stock instead of the special order I want. They must work on commission or something.

I still remember my first gun purchase, I went in asked if I could see a M1A1 rifle, guy behind the counter corrects me and tells me that civilians can't own said rifle. doesn't offer to show me any ARs I go to the next salesman and he asks what do you want the gun for. I tell him home defense. I now own a pump action 12g. I think to myself now 7 years later, this shop missed out on a $500-2000 sale for a $350 sale. it's a shame.

I want to work for a gun shop but none are hiring around here. So I work at Home Depot and I love helping customers. One thing I hate about gun shops is most of the employees are seniors that see a young male like me walk in and they roll their eyes and blow me off because I'm interested in AKs and military surplus. I hate going into a gun shop that is mom & pop and they have their kids running the counter and they don't know shit about their product and they refuse to carry black rifles or semiautomatic pistols, and the old man that owns the shop treats me like I'm a pest. He will be nice and polite to a man closer to his age but to someone who is under the age of 50, and I'm 26, he could care less. I will throw Marburgers in Seabrook,TX under the bus because that is the only gun shop that has treated me like that. Thankfully a gun shop opened up down the street called Lock and Loaded in Seabrook, TX and I will support them for having the absolute best customer service in the city and surrounding cities. If you in the Gulf Coast region of Texas between Galveston and Houston, I encourage you to see them.

cabelas salesman told me why there used guns cost more than a new one. With a new gun according to him you must shoot 1000 rounds as fast as possible do not aim just shoot if you only shoot 300rd and go home you must start over do not let the barrel cool down.The type of gun does not matter he said all guns. I told him i would buy the used glock if i could see the odometer to see it was fired 1000 times he got mad and walked away

I love to go and look at shops and put gun in hand when something new comes out and so many times I have been so much more knowledgeable then the sales person and have on many occasions found myself helping other customers. I actually like doing that. :)

Great gun gripe!!! I can appreciate what y'all were saying about giving your time to a given shop. I've done it at Home Depot and Lowe's I don't know how many times, and also at Academy. I go there because their ammo prices are great for off the shelf prices, but their employees...bless their hearts...don't often know much about what they're selling. It's so hard to stay quiet when you hear bad or biased advice, especially regarding a defensive handgun purchase. Sometimes you feel compelled to politely and softly suggest that they find a range that rents handguns and try various models, types, and calibers to make sure they get what they want for the money they're about to spend, especially if the counter guy shows he knows little if anything about guiding them or worse, is pushing some high dollar glitz gun that's more than they can likely appreciate or even understand (ex: few first time gun owners need a Les Baer or Wilson Combat 1911 as a carry gun). So many first time buyers are looking for that one size fits all perfect defensive carry gun, and they want the instant gratification of walking out that day with it so they can play with their new toy. It's understandable, but you're doing them a disservice if you don't slow them down a bit to make sure they're not doing something that will ultimately stunt their growth as a gun owner or worse, buying something they'll take to the range once, never carry, and ultimately regret buying. That's a great way to sour someone completely on the gun culture.

I work for my uncle on and off and he owns a pawn shop. I memorize every gun that comes through. And sometimes we get a new gun in and my coworkers put it out maybe 20 minutes before I get to work. It happens, but I recommend memorizing your stock. It helps tremendously, but also it helps to be a gun nut!!

I have a local gun shop here in CO, Grandpa's Pawn and Gun, amazing place. I was browsing the pistols and looked at a 1911. The gentleman showed me how to fully disassemble and assemble the gun in great detail. Needless to say, my first pistol is getting bought from them.
