Some of my favs. 1. The sound of a shotgun racking will make any bad guy run away 2. Revolvers never malfunction 3. Shotgun patterns are so big all you have to do is point it in the general direction 4. Anyone can buy a gun online and have it shipped to their home 5. Glocks aren't accurate

1. The proof is the sight of a firearm alone deters and racking draws attention to it. 2.Revolvers rarely malfunction and it is usually a bullet creep issue. Holding a semi-auto wrong can make it malfunction. 3.Agree it is a myth. 4.I have had a black powder revolver sent to my home. Like a stick and a heavy rock, it can be used to kill at close range. 5. Guns are not accurate because people shoot them. Pistols are more difficult for humans to get accurate than rifles because the sight radius is so short. 9mm is the least useful round because of the nut that controls the trigger and most own 9mm Glocks. The more popular the weapon, the more likely people think it does the shooting for them. A G17 with the 1:10 twist stabilizes the 147 gain better, but still has less muzzle energy than the typical 115 grain. If they made an 8 round .357 with an OAL of 6 inches made of tungsten to weight two pounds, I'd buy it for self-defense at nine feet.

From Canada, and just finished watching your entire Gun Gripes series (what utube will let me see). Lots of content not applicable to us north of the border but still informative and entertaining. You could make an episode comparing your ‘right’ to our ‘ privilege’. Keep fighting for your rights as law abiding firearm owners, or you may end up having laws such as ours. Keep up the great work, looking forward to watching your other content and seeing Barry. (Not that Chad is bad). Also looking forward to seeing new gun gripes

Tactical Toolbox Hey man love the channel. Sadly, this is a conditional circumstance. I’m no lawyer, but depending on how the shoot goes down your choice of tool can be presented as evidence. For me I’ll change the shoe on my triggers but never a connector or safety components to lighten a pull on a carry or defense gun. I’ve got some really nice triggers on range and comp firearms, but those stay in the safe. It’s all up to personal choice luckily we live in a neutral environment for cosmetic choices. Granted if what you have at the time comes back to bite you, I’d rather have my day in court than hauled off in a box. Don’t think there are any of us who disagree with that premise. But as I stated, circumstantial coincidences depending on responding officer, county prosecutor, and witness testimony can be combined to influence a juror decision. Objectively, this happens very, VERY rarely. Cheers, gentleman! Keep up the P80 builds TT!

There is a lot of channels showing AR-zombies and AK-ultratechs out there. Two of my favorite KZbinrs. Good job guys. Let me put this out there about 55gr, 5.56 ammo though. In the Marine Corps we qualify from 200, 300, and 500 meters with 55gr. ammo. Marksmanship is held at a very high standard that the Corps. In fact if you can't qualify you can't be a Marine. When I joined the Corps there were no optics to help you, and we consistently hit man sized targets at 500m with the M-16A2 using iron sights and XM193. Oh yeah... No bench rest guys... Just a loop sling. Loved this video, but I'm just saying fellas.

One of my favorite pieces of advice you gave is to get good with what you got. I have an old remington 511 that isn't really all that spectacular and I highly doubt it's very many peoples favorite gun, but I've taken that thing out shooting so many times with just simple, cheap, slightly rusted iron sights that I feel like I could shoot out a bad tooth standing at 50 yards. I was even out shooting my friend when we went plinking together and his rifle was in a much nicer configuration than mine. It goes to show that money can buy potential but the shooter has to HAVE that potential to capitalize on it.

2K-Kane AKs are almost always less accurate against AR-15s and most modern rifles. Rock in mags take longer than AR style mags. Too long? That's for you to decide. But really AKs can shoot well but I've never seen an AK shoot as well as an AR.

martywhitevan I think the cartridge is capable. It's more accurate than 7.62×39 but you really have more accuracy out of an AR than an AK but comparing a off the shelf 74 to a off the shelf M4 look alike it's about even.
@2k-kane18
@2k-kane18 6 жыл бұрын
Personally, I'm not looking for MOA accuracy in all my rifles. It's nice to have, but it's not needed. I never said that AKs can shoot as well as ARs, the short stroke gas system of an AK makes it have some integrated accuracy limitations. What I'm saying is for a .30 battle rifle between 1.5 and 4 MOA is more than enough for most shooters. 12 MOA potentially at 300 yards? That's the size of a human head roughly, so I'm fine with that.
@Tula1940_LB
@Tula1940_LB 6 жыл бұрын
An AK is a long stroke and 12 moa at 300 is a 36" group if you want to effectively hit a target the size of a head at 300 you need a 2 moa at least with people's heads being 6" wide 2 moa is a 6" group at 300

Favorite "The gun is not accurate" moment. Edwards Air Force Base, mid 1990s. Out shooting with my squadron mates near the abandoned Muroc train station. I've got a Marlin 60HC (an $109 gun when I bought it) and my Supervisor Tony (a Master Seargent) has his Colt AR-15 in 22 LR. We get into a contest, and I shoot better than him. He says I only did because I had a scope. I pull the scope off and we shoot again. He hits three targets, I hit four. He says his gun must be off. I ask him to give it to me and I proceed to destroy all the remaining targets. I smile and ask him if he wants to trade. He says "Shut up Paul!"

funny you mentioned the scope myth. I have a flat open field near my home. I purposely brought ; ZEISS hd5 new, Konus kinda new low end 4-12x50, an Old Pine Ridge 6x40 maybe 15 or more years old. Put an old brown chair in the mid high brown grass at a measured 175 yards, about 15 minutes before sunset, clear sky, no moon. Every five minutes I start with the 6x, then Konus at 6x, then Zeiss at 6x. Saw that old folding chair clear as a bell, and of course a doe walked out from the tree line and browsed around the chair, karma. So , I continue this test, all the way to 15 minutes past sunset. they all worked great , the Konus and Zeiss were so ridiculously close to one another in clarity, light gathering I was shocked, so shocked I texted my hunting buddies immediately. The 6x40 hung in there to almost the same time, lost about 5 minutes before the Konus and Zeiss bailed. I hunt the Uhwarries and nearby private land in NC for me , max shot 200 yards, and it actually has never happened yet, so I am good.

Love the mention on cheap scopes. Back in the mid 90's I was doing great things with a cheap3-9x40 summons at 400 yds. It was mated to a rem788 chambered in 243. Fast forward to today. I have an AR with a cheap bsa that stacks them like crazy at 200 yds( 20" stainless bull barrel with a pod) my hunting rifle( savage edge .308) has a nice 32mm vortex that I also cant miss with. The vortex ran about 140 after shipping but it is clear and works well in low light. Not a lot of bells and whistles but it gets the job done. Absolutely love it

I know a gun myth “ the P08 Luger is not reliable and ammo sensitive” it’s totally bull shit my Lugers will function with all the ammo I put thru it so far and out of the 450 rounds I fired I only had 3 stove pipes and all of them were on the last round
@boomerisadog3899
@boomerisadog3899 5 жыл бұрын
It's a nice piece of history but compared to a 1911 it is not reliable. Considering brand new 1911 is still widely used and manufactured today whereas the Luger is not, I'd have to say the 08 is inferior in design.
@patrickgriffitt9136
@patrickgriffitt9136 5 жыл бұрын
+Boomerisadog Biggest downfall of the P.08 is time and cost of manufacture,there are some small precision machined parts in them. They did test a 45acp P.08 vd a 1911govt and it failed one "goop and grime" test thus we had the 1911.

I chose 4 boxes Sellier & Bellot for my practice round and had so many drive pipes that I didn’t go back for 5 years! Yep. I later learned that there’s only 3 recommended range and 2 defensive ammunition types. I’m looking forward to testing out some recommended Remington UMC. I don’t remember any problems with my defensive loads of Hornady Critical Defense in 380 ACP. Off to research ASAP...

shooting tips and tricks Actually they are. Longer barrels mean more velocity and therefore less bullet drop between different ranges. Also with iron sights it increases the sight radius therefore you tend to be more consistent and more accurate.
@stevedo18able
@stevedo18able 6 жыл бұрын
Logan Barnette that's not more accurate, that just means less bullet drop. People aren't talking about iron sight radius when talking about longer barrels. Longer barrels whip more than shorter barrels; that's a fact and that influences accuracy. If both barrels are the same profile the shorter barrel will be more accurate, theoretically

The Shield Trigger can be vastly improved almost for free by just polishing up the internal sear components with high grit sandpaper. The reason the trigger sucks is that it is meant to be an affordable, mass-produced gun. They aren't going to take the time to hand polish the sear and striker safety components, you do it yourself and I guarantee it will be better.
@TheSuburban15
@TheSuburban15 6 жыл бұрын
Unbearable Pain. Believable. Without changing parts, I can bring a stock Glock trigger pull down half to a whole pound with just a good polish job, and it'll feel much better than numbers can tell. "Fluff & buff" was the term used on the Kel-Tec forum, and for those pistols is nearly mandatory.

Good for really cheap triggers, but be careful about any surface finish on the sear contact surfaces.
@BlownF150
@BlownF150 6 жыл бұрын
Sear components are often case hardened, sanding them in any fashion runs the risk of going through that hardened layer and winding up with a trigger that, while feeling better, has the potential to wear to a point of being dangerous. Leave trigger work to professionals or professionally made drop-in replacements.
@xenonram
@xenonram 6 жыл бұрын
BlownF150 It won't hurt it. If you "sand" it enough to go through the hardening, you've taken too much off, and the gun will be unsafe/unreliable/not working. Plus, on thin parts, the ratio between case hardening depth and total part thickness is really high. You're not "sanding" it anyways, you're polishing it. You're only taking about a "tenth" off anyways. (A tenth of a thousandth, 0.0001")

Greg Mahone What country are you in ? If you don't own a gun maybe you should befriend a gun owner in your country . Shooters are some of the most friendly people you can meet . We love to meet people who are not shooters , teach them about our passion for shooting , and see the joy on their faces when they fire a gun for the first time . Shooters won't make fun of you for not having fired a gun before . They are happy to have the opportunity to introduce a new person into shooting . They enjoy the experience and want to share it with others . Don't be intimidated by all the technical talk . If you are a good student , listen to instructions , and obey the basic rules of firearm safety and handling , you'll be OK . You don't have to be a hunter , policeman , or military person to be a shooter . Many people shoot guns as a form of recreation . Many own guns as a form of self defense , hoping they never have to harm another person , but prepared to protect themselves and others . Collectors buy , trade , and sell guns for various reasons . Some do it like stock traders buy and sell stocks. Some collect for historical purposes , owning a piece of history . Some collectors are into the mechanical and technical aspects of guns . To them it's just a machine or piece of engineering . Some people look at guns as a tool . A farmer , rancher , or other rural worker may need a gun to protect their livestock from predators , eliminate pests , or protect themselves from attackers . Some shoot guns as a sport . There are different levels of competitive shooting , from local matches up to the Olympic Games and other International Competitions .

Greg Mahone Even in the most anti-gun areas (NYC) there are gun ranges where someone can rent a gun , buy ammo , and get rudimentary training . Usually indoor ranges for handguns . In most areas you can take a concealed carry pistol course . You have to pay the fee , supply your own ammo , and find use of a suitable weapon . Some instructors may rent you a handgun for training and sell you the ammo . Many States have a hunter's safety course , necessary to purchase a hunting license . Buy yourself a .22 rifle and a brick of cheap rimfire ammo for this course . Or maybe a 20 gauge shotgun . These classes are usually free , the instructors are Game Wardens or Wildlife Officers . Not only will you learn gun handling and safety but you'll find out where you can go to shoot , like state gun ranges . Unlike private gun ranges where you'll have to pay to shoot , state ranges are paid for by taxes and are free to use . That's why taxes are higher on hunting and fishing gear . No matter where you shoot , If you're under 18 , you'll need your parent's or guardian's permission to handle firearms . If you're of age , you'll need a clean criminal record , no felonies or domestic violence . Good Luck !

I had a Yugo SKS and that thing was as accurate as any modern mass produced Semi-Auto sporting rifle! My friend had a Norinco SKS and his was just as accurate as my Yugo just not as pretty! With iron sights we would plink pop cans at 100 yards ( we used a football field as our range so I know it was exactly 100 yards normally I use meters. shooting prone and standing! I can shoot sub moa from a bench about 65% maybe 75% of the time from my bolt guns that are not magnums. My magnums if I can shoot 3-5 rounds under 2 inches shooting off hand 100-200 meters that is all I need. I reload so I worked up for each gun. The second I am shooting prone or off hand no way can I consistently shoot sub moa. The problem is that I do not hunt or compete from a bench with a rest! LOL For me reading the wind is what I struggle with the most!
