What does it really matter what you carry as long as: 1.) You can hit what your aiming at reliably. 2.) The gun functions with the ammunition you intend to use reliably. 3.) It meets any dumb restrictions that may be in place where you live. 4.) You can afford the ammunition to practice with it. 5.) The gun is mechanically sound and safe to shoot.

Ive finally decided that number 3 no longer applies. Virginia was the last straw of a hundred thousand straws. They have been infringing for over a hundred and thirty years. No more. All gun laws are illegal, every last one, and no American should obey even the least of them. If it exists in the world, in any military or government Armory ANYWHERE, then Americans are meant to OWN it, and be PROFICIENT in its USE. I could be wrong, but usually those guns used in a shooting (justified or not) usually don't seem to ever make it back to their owners ever again. At least from most of the anecdotal reports of commenters who were involved in citizen shootings I've read online that's the case. I assume if you have really good legal representation you may get it back at some point, but like you said it could take years or more if it even does work out at all.
@nicholasevans96274 жыл бұрын
@@100GTAGUY This exactly. I have friend that used to work for Uber. He was involved in a self defense shooting. He was deemed clear by the police. Because of the whole evidence thing, he lost his Glock 43 which was used in the shooting and he also lost his Glock 17 gen 4 which was also locked in the trunk of his vehicle. That gun was never used in shooting. So 2 guns lost due to police evidence. 3 years later he still hasn't gotten them back. This is why I will always buy a used, and a cheap gun for concealed carry. I have expensive firearms, but I keep those strictly for the range.

I'm writing this only a few minutes into the video, and I'm sure others have said it as well. You don't want your carry gun to be an expensive gun if you work for a living, and money matters to you. They will take your gun if fire it and, in some cases, strictly for drawing it in public. Your carry gun needs to be of a price and quality that you can ok with losing for a while, if not forever. Up in Canada back in the early 90s they passed a similar law to get rid of inexpensive guns. Basically they added any centerfire hangun in 380 or 32cal to the prohibited firearms list. Basically a Saturday night special law.

1st Gun Gripe I have seen in a LONG TIME that didn't offend me in some way. This advice makes sense. I have carried a KelTec PF9 that I bought used for $165 for years and felt safe. My collection is about have new, half used. I usually run the used for EDC and the new stuff for range or dress up.

Lol... I had to start with a deep conceal platform as my first carry option. You, Fred and Barry (back when u were still at Moss) pointed me to the LCP. I stepped into my LCP and overtime upgraded it with innovative arms sights, sweet pea trigger, hogue grip and laser. Now I can actually shoot as well with it at 7 yards, as I can with my full size Beretta. The investment was totally worth it. Now with better finances, I was now able to step into the sig p365. I don't think I would have been as comfortable with it as I am, without the time training with the LCP. Thank you again!

Hope it never happens, but if lost or stolen not a huge loss. Over 1k rounds later, it is still completely reliable. My fishing and backup hunting gun

Practicing the fundamentals with a .22 pistol really hones your skills and will make you more accurate with larger calibers. It also gives you confidence in .22 LR if you were ever to have to use it for self defense. I know people that can only shoot .22, men and women, and it's good to see they didn't stop carrying because they couldn't shoot larger calibers anymore.

My first carry weapon was a Bersa Thunder in 380. Back in 95, there wasn't as many low cost options so I settled for the low cost Bersa. Carried it for years!!! The rear adjustable site fell out, twice, decided I didn't need it and carried on :-) Have put thousands of rounds through it and taught many high school/college friends of my children to shoot with that very gun! Cheap, accurate, and dependable, what more could you ask for in a sub $300 weapon???

That "fat guy" low ride/deeper concealment holster is good for the Shield, because higher ride, especially appendix carry, has a tendency for the grip to flip/fall out away from the body because the barrel is so short it isn't stabilized or anchored well in the wasteline.
@donl49144 жыл бұрын
If it shoots and it's what's at hand, it's a Home Defense Weapon. You don't need an AR Pistol or a Shotgun to get the job done. As long as you are proficient with it your good. Adrenaline is your true enemy, Stay calm and get it done, there will be plenty of time later to FREAK OUT.......

"Big Josh" really hit the nail on the head by mentioning (several times) buying ammo and training. That $1500 Gucci gun is gonna be loot for the bad guy if you couldn't afford ammo to train with it after buying the gun!! Firearms proficiency is one of the most perishable skills I've run across.
