I am shocked that america still has not banned guns i mean 12,000 deaths a year vs every other country like 20 deaths a year and don't even start with the knife bullshit excuse there is no comparison. Every year i switch on the tv and all i see is shooting after shooting after shooting in america it really is a embarrassment now. America need to wake up and realise its not a good idea giving civillians guns and crime goes way down once guns are taken away statistics have shown this time and time again there is no argument and anyone who does argue this cannot accept the truth.

@@BigMeech935 Yes, but technical jargon shouldn't be thrown or used to dismiss common sense arguments revolving gun control. What a lot of gun nuts do is they take all these insider knowledge about terminologies revolving guns to argue against any kind of gun control. Stuff like, "Do you even know the difference between semi-automatic rifle, assault rifle, and sub-machine gun..... or like differecne between a pistol and a handgun?" to someone who might conflate the two. But it really doesn't f***ing matter because any kind of gun doesn't make sense in a civil society. So you throw this technical jargon as an excuse without making any actual argument
@akshayneha

@@BigMeech935 Ok Boss. Whatever makes you happy. This is coming from a side that makes arguments like "the only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun", "cars/knives/cancer/etc also kill people, should we ban cars etcetc too?", "it's in the constitution it cant be taken away (not realizing ironically that it's an amendment)", and makes extremely false claims and lies to defend their side. And btw, yes, people can talk about banning guns despite not knowing the correct technical knowledge if they will that guns are not safe and have no place in civil society. Btw, there is AMPLE amount of evidence and data to scientifically prove that guns in civil society cause increased violence and vice versa. Countries that banned guns experience sharp decline in mass shootings. In most countries mass shooting in something that is extremely rare but it happens almost every day in this country causing deaths of so many children. Guess we'll never know why. At last, we can agree to disagree, because if you're a gun nut, no amount of persuasion can convince you. Jesus could come to earth and tell you to give up your guns and you still wouldn't do it. So this argument is really pointless. But yeah feel free to ramble on if you want to waste your precious energy.

And somehow leaving the house just magically makes you safer because those guys just somehow can’t follow you outside lol. That guy is very delusional. And he talks about mass shooters using AR-15s acting like it’s some super automatic mass murder weapon. It’s funny how these people always just gloss over the “good guy with a gun” like it never exists, look at the Sutherland Springs incident in Texas “The attack is the deadliest mass shooting in Texas history, and the fifth-deadliest in the United States.”, if Stephen Willeford wasn’t there with an AR-15 defending the lives of the people involved in that tragic event, so many more people would’ve been killed. And isn’t it so interesting that any other Mass shooting is covered by the Media in full for days to weeks on end, and yet The Sutherland Springs shooting was only just barely covered with barely any mention of the heroism of Stephen Willeford. The media is insidious because they only want to cover and push incidents that help drive their narrative instead of “The Worst Mass Shooting in Texas History”, all because that incident was prevented from becoming even worse by a “good guy with a gun”.

100% agree. At least in CA, once you go through the process of purchasing a weapon, you realize all the things people say about how easy it is to get a gun flies out the window. In USA, there ARE background checks and waiting periods, additionally in CA, I had to take a gun safety test, give my finger prints, provide ID and supporting documents I live at that address, multiple waivers and agreements to sign. Then at a range, there is a range officer, everyone is preaching gun safety and responsibility, it's really a supportive community of people looking to protect themselves and the community. We can't really go about making exceptions for the 2nd amendment because it seems more problematic at any given time. Even though I wouldn't want the same gun laws as the US in my own country, I would for sure want to own a gun if I had to live in the US because of the high rates of violent crime. It makes a lot of sense in that regard. Also the genie is out the bottle with all those hundreds of millions of guns in circulation anyway, so even if you wanted to change it's almost become impossible at this point. It's also understandable since America was one of the few countries in the Anglosphere to break free from Great Britain by revolting against a perceived tyrannical government. As a society you just have to accept that the price of freedom is having daily mass shootings and off the charts gun deaths compared to other developed countries.

Fun fact: the 2nd Amendment said that " the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed" instead of "people should have the right to keep and bear arms". This clearly shows that the right of the people to keep and bear Arms is provided not by the 2nd amendment but, like the women sitting at the top left corner said, by the creator. In other words, it is a natural right that exists regardless whether the 2A is still in effect, and the 2A is just emphasizing and protecting it.

There's a difference between having a firearm that's strictly kept for the purpose of protecting your home and walking/driving around armed everywhere you go, which is what a lot of gun advocates do. At the same time statistically there's a far greater likelihood of you dying in a car crash than ever encountering violent intruders in your home. If gun advocates cared so much about protecting the lives of themselves and their families then they wouldn't drive. It's all just a massive cope for insecure ego-enslaved men who use guns to compensate for their testosterone deficiencies. That's why they don't have this problem in Europe because people aren't fkin lunatics.

That guys wild but I think sometimes people let their ego get in that way. If you have to stand your ground, then stand your ground. But if the opportunity for you are your loved ones to flee you should do it. I think one issue with having people with no firearm background or experience try to give input on how the laws should work is that they can't constructively give feedback if they are not aware of the preexisting laws. It's like if we asked a group of people who watched or played football to make rules to make the game safer, vs asking people who never watched football, don't even know the rules of football, try to make safety rules based on their feelings and preconceived notions.

That dude is a danger to everyone in America! Just imagine an individual telling everyone not to work out and eat healthy because in his own personal experience, it hasn't worked for him. Using your own experience, physical and mental abilities, or lack thereof, to legislate how everyone else should be able to act, or react, to any situation, is ignorant, and more seriously, immoral. How crazy would it be if this guy was a woman who was raped, sitting there telling other women to just let men rape them at will rather than fight back, so they can "survive and move on with their lives." That's how ridiculous, narcisstic, and evil his mindset is.

One thing I did notice that was a bit scary was the one participant suggesting people with right wing ideology, misogynists, transphobes, etc shouldn’t have guns, that’s punishment for thought crime. How exactly would you legislate who can and can’t have a gun based on what they think?

Isn't it interesting how people who label themselves progressive often times are the exact opposite? I think it's because people nowadays have positions not principles. Being progressive is a principle, toeing the party line is a position. It becomes evident when actual progressiveness and tolerance doesn't line up with positions, so people break away from that principle to defend their position

@@korvoth4269 You missed the entire point. We have both fight and flight. Both are legitimate means of protecting you and your loved ones. Grabbing your family and finding a way to escape unharmed, whether that's fighting or running, is the point here. Read the situation and make the right call. Officers all time suggest running and hiding if you can do so safely. Gambling with you and your loved ones life in a gunfight isn't always the best option. Especially if it leaves you dead. How you gonna protect them in the future if you're dead? The natural disaster example was cited as a means to understand that it's about reading the situation and choosing the best course of action. It's not all black and white. You want a different example? Fine. LA mass shooting. Bullets raining down from above into a crowd at you and your friends. Are you getting your gun out and shooting? How can you? You're on the street surrounded by hundreds of panicking people and the fire is coming from a hotel far off and very high up. So what do you do? You grab your loved ones and run. tl;dr Choose the safest option that'll keep you and yours safe. If that's a shootout? Fine. If it's running, do that. Never take a life lightly. @@KN-ko8ez well ARs are more deadly than pistols, but that's just because they fire a rifle round (and not even a very big one, literally .22 caliber lol), that being said, that applies to any semi-auto rifle chambered in a rifle cartridge, them singling out the most popular one still makes no sense because there's tons of other rifles that do the same thing or are even more powerful.

@@mattm402 idk why you'd target me specifically in your example lol... kinda weird, but i get what you're trying to say... but tbh, No, what you're saying just isn't correct. Genuinely it is not the same, those 2 bullets will, on average achieve pretty different results. Yes, they both CAN kill if you hit someone center mass, and yes you're "just as dead" if either bullet hits an ultra-vital spot like heart (which is why shot placement is so important) but in general, you're A LOT more likely to survive the 9mm than the 5.56. FBI crime stats say people only die from 1 pistol shot about 25% of the time, meanwhile 1 rifle shot is about 75-80% lethality, and yes the difference is that crazy.

@@thekamotodragon Just replying. Wasn't targeting you specifically. Besides comparing a pistol to a rifle is apples to oranges. The leathality of the rifle is largely due to the fact that it's a lighter round and more likely to over penetrate. It's the exit wound of the round that causes the damage. Where are a heavier slower 9mm round is less likely to exit. It's like comparing full metal jackets to hallow points. My only point is dead is dead.

Most people know that an armed govt will easily and happily bring death to an unarmed society to ensure they stay in the boundaries of the lines they've set. Now when the society is armed the people set the rules, and the govt is an extension of them and its kept in line by the people bc they are equal. Removing guns from the people while the govt still has them tips the balance of power creating a tyrannical govt. And history has proven time and time again that those tyrannical govts, have and still use their guns to bring death upon billions of people, most who gave up, or had their rights stripped from them.
