GUN TEST: Blaser R8, 22 Long Rifle, Rimfire conversion

Thanks very much for this video, I'm subscribing. I'm seriously thinking of investing in an R8 for two reasons. Firstly because the quality looks excellent and secondly because I'll be shooting .22LR most of the time and 6.5 Creedmoor regularly as well, so the modularity of the R8 is very appealing. For that reason I'll be swapping barrels fairly often and so this video has been extremely helpful.👍🏻😊

Is that Bipod/Rifle Sling screw placed under the stock itself or are there several options for the rifle screw? When it usually appears to be at the front of the stock. Thanks for the good video.

From the box the front swivel is in the tip of the forend. I'm using a Blaser Carbon, QD bipod, which requires a new forend tip, complete with mounting socket. HMS Precision of Austria make a QD bipod system called the BONE and offer for the R8 a spigot stud that fits into the forend's nose cap. Or you could just fit a QD sling stud and use something like a Harris BRS bipod.

Hi great video I have just got started with deer stalking I shoot a blaser r8 in 6.5 creedmoor can’t get any Cooper bullets to hold a good group any help with this would be greatly appreciate

I've had good success with Barnes LRX (long range X-bullet) in 6.5CM it weight 127-grains and can produce near 2900 fps, with good energy

Hello, I have a question. Is the 22lr bolt head shorter, than the 308 bolt head? Somebody I know bought a conversion kit and it seems that the bolt head is shorter than the 308? Could it be that they bought the wrong bolt or possibly the wrong kit? They have a 308 R8. Thanks for your help.

Yep, along with 22 Hornet, 17HMR, 22WMR and 22LR. Given the quality of their barrels, I reckon it could be a good one

The can is from Barton Road Gunworks, here in the UK
