I support the 2A ...AND love my Taurus G2C. Actually, I bought it solely because it was dual action and wanted a gun I could easily laser dry-fire with. After taking it to the range and finding it was just as reliable as my other 3x more expensive handgun, I'm liking it even more.

I really love mine too, at first I was like a little heavy but it keeps muzzle on target better for me

In this episode you mentioned a $250 firearm... but you neglected to mention what make / model. Details, please.

Most of the Taurus G2/G3 series are $250 or less with plenty of good reviews.

The hypothetical revolver in a drawer should be fine, assuming the springs are designed properly. Springs wear when they're cycled, not when they're stored within their operating range. Consider vintage watches or wall clocks. Additionally, there are many anecdotal reports, locally and nationally, of loaded drum mags working just fine. I might wonder if the gun was greased if the oil has bled from the soap and may pose a binding issue that way.
