Swedish IFV Commander here. At night - or in the morning - I usually poured the instant coffe, the sugar and the dehydrated milk in my mouth, took a swig of stale water and gave the orders. Driver - Forward! Gunner - tentotwo - observe!

We tend to have quite easy breakfast in Sweden however 25 years ago while in the military (conscription) on a base you ate a *lot* for breakfast... and everything else. You had to eat a lot to be able to keep up with the physical demand. Dinner was probably the more easy meal.

I would love to have this out in the woods on a cold day. Gotta watch those zipper seals I had a chocolate protein explode didn't double check the seal. Awesome review always enjoy your style. Pate in the main good stuff!

The grapefruit drink..."that is almost really good". 😂😂 The rice pudding was supposed to be for breakfast, but with the muesli and so many other things that could be eaten for breakfast, I would have eaten the rice pudding as a dessert with one of my other meals too. This was a huge ration. In addition to the 3 Bla Bland large portion entrees, there was just so much extra food... definitely lots of calories for a soldier in a cold climate.

The glucose syrup is for fast energy, it's essentially pure sugar the way the body burns it. The cereals break down in acid to become various sugars throughout the day, the idea is glucose is fast release and the none sugars are slow release

Freeze dried is best way to carry rations anywhere in the world. Which is exactly why it's so popular in Europe.

Nice review Gundog. Those swedish rations are very very good. I had a 24Hour swedish ration a while ago and it was good. Still have an Outmeal ration in my stash. Looking forward to try it soon. Don`t know you have a reflux. Me too, i have the same problem.

A cute trick to ziplocks, so you don't have to fight with the protective flap of plastic. Pinch the zipper, and counter slide it. The corners will open up for you.

Well Steve is a good buddy to have. KZbin take all kinds, some folks love the camera and are poets describing their fare (Steve). I'm just kinda the opposite. Mainly this stuff has to be on the cheap and last a few years. The only thing I've ever seen "made now" that looks the same is a McDonalds Cheese Burger. There is one on the internet somewhere that's like 20 years old......that should make your stomach shiver.
