Embrace the suck! :) I agree that this was a milsim rule set being run in a skirmish site. Doing one of the MOD sites might be a next step for you guys as the sites are bigger and more unique. Might be quite a big shift though. I’m glad you all got something out of it and we didn’t put you off for life. I’ll pass on some of the concerns raised to the organising team for next time.

I know you guys had us 2 from Whiskey attached to you briefly at times, Georgie more so than me 🤣 was a blast!

It really was, Georgie and Alice really were instrumental in securing the downed pilot for the brits!

I’ve only just seen this guys! I’ve got to say I had a blast of a time that weekend, and I’m very grateful for how welcoming and friendly you lovely people were. Really nice memories, thanks so much - when is the next one?

It's so true! 99% of airsofters just watch the BB stream and walk it on to target.

The weather is all part of it! But it certainly makes you think about your kit. There will definitely be ups and downs through an event, but that’s kind of the point that makes the highs better. But sounds to me like the things you thought/expected it to be would be addressed on larger site, with more people (which sounds like quite a few people let the organisers down by avoiding the weather). Always good to have a buddy system when getting back to camp, especially as a TL, let’s you get off to briefing whilst someone else does your reloading, topping up water etc.

yep, numbers certainly did decrease in the lead up, but oh well, we still had a blast! Deffo going to role out a buddy buddy system next time, I need my caffeine fix after all!

It was a really good event, thoroughly enjoyed playing with you all when we bumped into you. (I was in Juno) Yeah, it turns out dawn in low light with rain means all you can make out is silhouette and wet DPM and ratnik camo suddenly looks very similar 🤣

It was really good fun playing alongside you guys! I knew we would get miss identified at some point, just found it funny because I'd be squarking over the comms what we were about to do 😂

@@EnglishKiwi that's very true, I'm not sure if we actually ended up with a working radio in our fire team by the end of the day tbf... My army surplus headset was definitely filled with water and stopped working 🤣

Sounds good, and fun. I've not managed to do a Milsim yet. I'm quite glad I'm putting together a 'modern' Russian kit, sounds like they were under-represeted a little. I was once told 'There is no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing', my old Scout leader I think, possibly after my second bought of Hypothermia. Luckily the Russians know how to do bad weather clothing'.

TBF I think the only reason they were under-represented is due to the weather, apparently there were quite a few drop outs in the days leading up to the event.
@teaandmedals76773 жыл бұрын
Were there only 8 Opfor ? I thought it was a larger event.
@EnglishKiwi3 жыл бұрын
There were 9. There was meant to be more, but there were a fair few dropouts due to covid and the weather.

milsim reqiures the following: a large site, a clear and concise ruleset (Making it too complex and rambling can be a problem), marshalls and site owner who is familair with milsims. occasional engagments where the objective isnt to meat grind the enemy too much. I.e get in and get out kinda stuff. Having marshalls or very experioenced milsimers embed in the teams to lead or advise them. Just because someone turns up in £2000 woirth of gear and fancies themselves as an "operator" means nothing....geardos can infact be some of the worst mislim players. Bending rules, making up their own rules and having a cry when it doesnt go their way.
