Marvel started something very similar over the summer: a podcast with a bunch of exclusive interviews. Not just for the MCU but for upcoming marvel comics runs as well. Hopefully this feels a lot like that does.

Honestly I really hope James Gunn doesn't change Peacemaker's style of humor It may not be for everyone but that's what the DCU needs, great productions but that cater to different tastes, the worst scenario possible is becoming the MCU, with the safest style possible for every film

This is so exciting, the cinematographer is an amazing choice for this movie. He is very well with beautiful shots and woman of tomorrow needs beautiful shots in the movie just like in the comics.

I think the technology comment is about using animatronics instead of CGI. Like, if they make GI Robot in live-action, it’s going to actually be a robot on set

I absolutely love everything I’m hearing about what Gunn is doing with the DC universe. I just wish we were getting a bit more. I guess we’ll have to actually see how well the first wave of projects do which I guess are Creature Commando’s, Superman & Peace Maker. I did hear a video the other day about some other projects that are coming which I didn’t know about like a Teen Titans movie. This could really be huge for DC lovers. I agree with your dislike of the Peace Maker humor I hope it’s toned down as the story was very good and the next one sounds like it could also be very good. I’ve heard great things about Creature Commando’s!! Can’t wait for it

An official DC studios podcast sounds awesome Gunn can come on there and talk and drop News whenever that great . And unlike the marvel podcast (which completely disappeared btw ) you can see the people and guests talking lol gun. DCU is the hype the branding has been great and it hasn't even started yet . And the potential is endless

People pick and choose when they want to acknowledge Rotten Tomatoes. If it opened to a 40 percent everyone would say it sucks without even watching it. But since it opened strong it’s because the reviewers are “dishonest”. I read some of the reviews they are positive but it doesn’t lack criticisms of Gunn. Surprisingly Grace Randolph gave a positive tomato despite their personal issues.

Gunn pretty much said that creature commandos was basically the suicide squad with monsters because that's kind of what the comic book was like. Just because one part of a movie is cannon doesn't man the whole movie is cannon so just because Peacemaker killed Rick Flagg Jr and that is what drives Season 2 of Peacemaker but it doesnt mean other small events happen like Superman getting shot with a Kryptonite bullet by Bloodsport may not have happened

I want James Gunn and the DCU to take their time building characters first and letting the audience get to know them before doing justice league. That way, a justice league movie will be more satisfying when the characters come together on the big screen. Again, story and characters first.

I feel Jump the Gunn should've just done a clean reboot with the DCU. Even as a hardcore fan, I find the whole "what is canon" confusing, even after Gunn explained it. Now imagine how the general audience will feel. Like sure, Peacemaker season 1 might be 90% canon, but then that very same canon has actors or even references something that's not canon and part of the old DCEU. And not to mention it's heavily connected to the old DCEU. Clearly Gunn is picking favourites on the projects he worked on but I don't think it's good for the greater DC universe.

I'm surprised that we're still talking about HBO Max not being available in certain territories. When the service started, I thought HBO Go was supposed to be the workaround for that, now to hear that some places still don't have the service is pretty disappointing. Like you, I'll hold judgment on the podcast if just because DC tried this with the DC Daily news program, which I wasn't a fan of, but maybe this will be different.

The Batman discussed in Peacemaker wasn’t even Affleck’s Batman. In Peacemaker season 1 they referred to Batman having a moral code and no kill rule, that’s definitely not Batfleck.

The Suicide Squad was amazing. It’s probably one of my top 3 favorite comic book movie ever You’re speaking like it was universally hated. The only reason it didn’t draw box office numbers was because it came out in the middle of the pandemic and was played for free on Max the day went to theaters. You must be referring to the Ayer movie with the Leto Joker or framing your opinion as if it’s the universally accepted view of the movie. The only reason the audience score is pulled in the 70s on RT and IMDB was because of Snyderbots spamming it with negative reviews. If you don’t like it, it’s fine, but don’t act like everyone is terrified that creature commandos and Superman are gonna be like the suicide squad when the vast majority of people that watched the suicide squad really liked it.

Is it just me or the fact that Grillo's Rick Flag Sr having white hair & beard in CC and his regular look in Superman and PM S2 feels really jarring? Looks like Gunn deliberately made the character to look like his own self in CC, given its importance as A.R.G.U.S head and connecting various DC heroes.

I get what you mean but it's not because Gunn wanted him to look like himself. Grillo was filming other projects whilst filming Superman and Peacemaker. Gunn wanted him to have the white hair but they didn't have time. He needs the white hair to look older than his son. Which is why it looks strange with him having grey hair in CC but black hair in Superman and peacemaker.

The out of universe reason is that Grillo couldn’t sue his hair out of obligation to another show. The in universe reason (given by James Gunn himself) is that Rick Flag Sr. is a vain man who dyed his hair to look younger.
