I'm 46 years old an got my 1st gunpla for my bday in june, an HG gundam perfect strike freedom. I absolutely loved the process of building it. I went same day an got the HG gundam ground urban combat type...just finished him last night. I cant wait to continue building my collection. I cant believe it took me this long to discover gunpla models!!!

If you are looking for a really nice and kinda unusual RX78 model, look for the One Year War version. There are two versions of it. One which is dusty and one which is clean. But bith look like they have spent their life in the desert. That gundam base exclusive one is kinda special. Its the RX78 from the old Perfect Gundam kit, without all the Perfect Gundam armour and weapons. I have every 1/100 RX78 in my backlog. 1.0 1.5 2.0 perfect gundam core, one year war, 3.0, origins version, f00, verka etc etc etc. Each version is unique and special in its own way

Wow! That's a huge collection! I love the rare possible kits! I have an RX-78-2 Master Grade Series 10th Anniversary Edition still in the box. It was a limited run produced in 2005 and it is in "Victory Ceremony Celebration Colors" (the white, orange, and red color scheme of a GM). I haven't found another one like it. It's my favorite collector's item.

Thanks for showing us your lineups of RX-78-2 collections. I remember most of your kits when it first aired on your KZbin channel, and I was " Oh, I know that one, that one I remember when she introduced the world's blackest paint, and that big RX I watched its live stream build." This was the reason I subscribed to this channel a couple of years ago. A girl who is a Gunpla enthusiast. At first, back then I was skeptic but then after following this channel, I noticed that Gunpla meli's collections are mostly RX-78-2. And she is a fan of Char. Then she was also exposed to Gundam Wing back in the days. In which was my main reason for being a Gunpla builder: Gundam Wing, and the Universal Century saga.

The unknown RX78 G3 is indeed a Master Grade, it's based on the first Master Grade ever released actually, it's the 1.0 version.

A bit off topic- I had no idea 7-11 was such a thing outside of the US. I work for an e-commerce company and for Taiwan customers we offer the option of home delivery or in-store pickup at 7-11. Growing up, I just knew them as the place to get a slurpee.

Cool collection Meli, I got a suggestion for you about your custom painted black RX-78, try getting a can of Krylon Matt finish to protect the paint, try it first on a spoon already painted black to see if there's any after effect 😀

Don't worry. I got a limited edition clear SD Zaku-II..... For like forty dollars. Also they had Hello Kitty Zaku and Gundam. I think I missed out on that Gundam base RX-72-2. I'll be honest, I like Zaku's, but Doms are my favorite, any variant really. I even got a special coating Char version from 2013.... I did not get it that year. Metal fix figuration are the best, expensive yet sturdy

Watching the part with the blackest RX-78 of all time, and I'm curious why you wouldn't add a matte topcoat or something to protect the paintjob. It would probably add a little bit of a sheen to it but at least the paint would stay where it's supposed to!

I am actually surprised you don’t have one of the 2020 Olympic ones or the anniversary ones. The red one. I picked up the Olympic one cause it looked cool to me. But the plastic feels flimsy as hell. Still a unique build though, but not displayed. Not sure where to display or if I should paint it because of the unique colors. Cool collection though

I thought the Casval RX78 came from the novel but I did my research before commenting because I didn't want to make a fool of myself and turns out it originated from the Gihren's Greed game where Char pulled a Bender from Futurama and made his own Zeon during the one year war.

I have always lusted after that game but it was way too text heavy for me to try and self-translate. “A heavy strategy game that lets you play out a good chunk of UC history following your own path? Yes, please!!!” I know the game included several of the characters that appeared originally in the novels, especially the Flanagan Institute. There were a lot of “what if” scenarios you could bring about in the game, like Amuro being an ace pilot for the Titans. I would throw lots of money at a modern version which carried the UC timeline up to Unicorn and had actual English subtitles. If SRW can do it, why can’t Gundam? T_T

Cool video Meli! Just an fyi, the G40 is a decent kit but some parts like the toes and torso area is a bit flimsy out of box or after a few poses. But mainly on the torso so I’d recommend maybe top coating it entirely so that all the joints are solid and secure. But I like it 😁👍

You got a nice collection of RX-78-2. I got that mega sides RX-78-2 a couple of years ago still need to be put together and paint up. I also recently finished swordfish 2 from cowboy bebop and got the RX-78F00 not to long ago that need to paint up to I pay a bit for him but i say the price will go up on him later as they removed the one in Japan next year. Also still waiting on metal gear rex next on the list

Do you plan on getting the 1/60 PG upgrade kits for the Original RX-78-2 or the Metallic version of the original 1/60 PG RX-78-2? I didn’t see an original My first Gundam kit, the Revive, the Gundam Braker Battlogue Target exclusive entry grade, the RX-78-2 vs Zaku II set, RX-78-2 Guncannon Guntank set, original MG RX-78-2 version 1, just to name a few. I also know that there is a P-Bandai clear armor set for the PG Unleashed RX-78-2 if you haven’t seen it yet. The upgrade kits for the PG RX-78-2 not only have extra weapons to build but clear armor for the RX-78-2 and I saw that you said that you now love clear kits. You would have to get both sets in order to get all of the clear parts and extra weapons for the PG RX-78-2. Happy building.
