Here's a look at some gunsafes that didn't hold up too well against a pry attack. These were both opened in less than 5 minutes.

Great illustration of what cutting corners and saving a buck can cost people in the long run! Also if that liberty is Rsc rated and the owner claims to have gotten it open in under 5 minutes then underwriters lab should take another look at that model 😂. I truly enjoy these safe “failure” reviews and wish there were more videos of different brands/models being attacked in “common” ways. To illustrate both the good safes holding solid compared to cheapies! Understandable from a cost and security point why there aren’t a lot though lol Also Parker, still waiting for your import BFS vs domestic BF amsec safe comparison! Funny enough the smallest import (bfs912) also utilizes a flat plate style bolt…but because it’s amsec the bolts are solid 3/8 steel and the door also contains a 3/8 plate…along with a beefier frame I’d assume! 🤔

I used to work for a vault company. I never appreciated how good the real stuff is. Just checked out what Tractor Supply had to offer and I was disgusted.

Thanks so much for showing us how these level of safes fail. I breaks the myth that these types of safes are "Secure"🤣🤣.

This is exactly what i want to know. Just how much does it take to defeat a certain safe and fires. Looking at examples. I don’t see examples of well built safes probably because you can't pry them but I'm using the word probably. I just want to know what I'm buying.

You need a TLTR rated safe, a jeweler’s safe for real security.

Perhaps but there are companies that still build a reputable gun safe without the TLTR COST. American Security and Fort Knox come to mind...

Liberty calls those military style locking bars. Call them whatever you want, clearly a serious failure. They really shouldn't be calling those containers safes. It's nothing but a false sense of security. If you can't afford a safe get a lock box used by contractors. Definitely bolt it in a corner.. depending on the style and gauge of steel used the are a good alternative until you can afford a real safe. Excellent video, thanks for sharing 👌🙏🙏

Although both of those gun safes are lower tier quality, they would have most likely held up better and taken longer to enter if they had been solidly bolted down in a location that gave little to no access for a pry bar to get leverage. That's exactly how I placed my Amsec BF6636.

Would love to know if these "safes" were bolted down. Most of the pry videos are of safes laying flat on their back in an open space with long bars and lots of leverage. Bolted down, in a small space I would think cutting or drilling would be easier than prying in, even with these safes, but I am no expert.

I believe one was. Bolted actually makes it easier as the safe doesn't move while it's being pried on.

I think these are both 14 guage steel, would a 12 guage hold up better?

Not really tbh…. 12GA would be slightly more difficult to flex but it’s still not much…. If you want to slow a burglar down but can’t afford a real $15K+ safe, look for something with either fractional steel plates (1/4”, 3/8”, 1/2”) or multiple layers of gauge steel… Fort Knox offers customizable layers so you can get a somewhat affordable safe and spend another $700 to add an extra layer of 10GA steel liner

Yeah 14 ga may as well be a filing cabinet. 10ga is the minimum if you want to keep anyone other than children out.

I would never own a gun safe with one of those built-up refrigerator doors known as "composite". They are thin of steel and obviously door weak. Give me a plate steel door always.

Liberty won't be happy about you showing those bent tabs and body lol. They want people to believe their cheap ass tabs are stronger than bolts, which doesn't matter anyways if the body just bends out of the way...

Can you imagine their bottom line if they just built real safes? I mean, they have all the marketing and dealers in place. All they'd have to do is build a safe.
