Since Browning owns Winchester and we see some common concepts used with the XPR and AB3, why is it that the XPR's bolt can be field stripped and the AB3 cannot. Calls place to Browning resulted in answers that the AB3 bolt should be sent to a Browning service center. Alot of AB3 owners are raising this question. Please advise the engineers and PR staff to assemble/upload a video on how to field strip the AB3 bolt! Thank You

Hi, can you tell me if xpr in cal. 243 is a submoa rifle. If yes, what ammunition has the best results? Thank you in advance. Florin

I purchased an XPR. It has a rigid stock vs the Ruger American, but the thing that bothers me is that the recoil lug doesn't have much surface area to grip in the receiver. Also not a fan of the plastic bolt shroud, but it's a great gun other wise.

I have this XPR rifle in .30-06 and it's great. The only issue I've had is after firing the first round from the magazine I'd attempt to load the second, but if I pushed the bolt forward slowly the angled part of the bolt body (an inch behind the bolt face) would fetch up on the last round in the mag causing the bottom cartridge to dip down in the magazine at the tip of the round and jamming the bolt. Making it impossible to push the top round into the chamber without unloading and reloading first. Now I've not had an issue if I push the bolt forward in a fluid motion and with some authority, but IMO you shouldn't have to ram it home for it not to jam on you. This isn't concerning while hunting deer or at the range of course but in the event of a charging bear or follow up shots on moose or elk this would be life threatening or discouraging at the least. Anyone else having this issue?

I love the action of the Tikka but I don't like how you have to move it to fire to cycle the bolt. The XPR you dont have to. It has a bolt unlock button up front that you can cycle the bolt while the trigger is in safe.

They have recalled these rifles for that reason. People were setting their triggers ridiculously light, and when you flick the safety back and forth in rapid succession, the pin would fall on some rifles. Winchester did the right thing and recalled them and the process is pretty easy and painless. Mine has been retrofitted and the trigger still moves with the safety. But for the money, there isn't a better rifle on the market.

1). Also ran, nothing special, not really a Winchester. A repackaged Browning. 2). The detachable magazine only aspect of this rifle makes it even less appealing. 3). The Marlin X7 series of rifles was an updating of the Post 64 Model 70s. It vindicated the design. Aside from the ugly Savage barrel nut and lack of a hinged floorplate option, this was an incredible, budget rifle. Winchester, or FN licensing the name more properly, should move in that direction, update the post 64 70 with a rotating bolt head, model 700 top contour for Remington scope bases, use a medium weight barrel as Remington is doing with the 783 and add a hinged floorplate, not a low quality, detachable magazine. Add a Savage type trigger. Call it a Model 80 Winchester and market it up against Remington 700/7, Howa/Weatherby at the price of a Ruger American. That's a Winchester I'd buy.
