Just won an xpr on a sticker draw here in Canada. Mine is a .270 and came with vortex optics. Funny thing is I was about to pull the trigger and purchase one when I won it. Can't wait for range day and deer season now. Price is just over $1100 in Canada.

I've got a xpr in 243 and it is a tack driver. Every ammo I have shot has been minute of angle or less. Very well made rifle. I love it!!

Here is my review of Winchester XPR: I own XPR in 30-06 for two years now and i shot around 400 rounds with it.One of the things i like about the rifle is accuracy.I shoot many kinds of ammo and it shot sub-moa 3 shot groups(and i think that accuracy could be more enchanced by pillar bedding the rifle).Other thing i like is the MOA trigger.Some people complain that its heavy but it was perfect for me and my type of shooting.Trigger has no creep and very little overtravel.In my opinion trigger is comparable to Timney and better than on most cheap rifles.50 degree bolt is realy slick but it is little hard to lock with round in the chamber.Recoil pad is quite nice.Now things that i dont like about XPR.Syntetic stock is and feels really cheap.It makes gun feel like a toy.Stock is hollow and noisy,its has a lot of flex in forearm(that could be solved by bedding and strenghtening forearm,but that would add weight to already not light rifle,because 24in barrel doesnt make it handy).Only good solution that they did concerning the stock is that they leaved a wide channel between stock and barrel so that the flex doesnt affect accuracy(freefloated barrel).3 round magazine is also cheap plastic and feels like a childrens toy.Bolt shroud,trigger and trigger guard are also plastic(i would prefer aluminum).Matte finish on the rifle is not that durable.It instantly started to wear off on bolt handle and around the edges after light use.Last thing i didnt like about the rifle was extreme copper fouling from the start.After just couple of shots bore of the rifle would be full of copper (and for those who wonder yes i did the break in process).Copper fouling did not affect accuracy but it was odd because none of my other rifles did that.Only explanation for copper fouling was rough bore).At first i thought that i was the only one with that problem because i couldnt find anything about that on the internet but then i inspected two more XPR-s from my friends,one in 308 and other also in 30-06. They had the same problem with copper fouling which i repeat did not affect accuracy but was just indication of really rough bore.They rifles were also sub-moa.Now the final question would i recommend the XPR.Hmm probably.It shoot good,but feels really cheap.I would probably save 150$ more and buyed Bergara b14.I havent shoot it but i heard only the best for it.

Good presentation. Just a question . How did you experience the accuracy on the rifle ? I have 308 version and once it is hot after 2 or 3 shots it needs to be cooled down for a minute or so ...... kam

My weatherby vanguard is the same way I think they both need to put a little thicker barrel on it ill have a 3/4 inch group first 2 shots and the third will make that group open to 1 and 1/4 to 1 and 1/2 inch group

Mine is about 1/2 inch at 100 yards. Granted I shoot it slow. Rapid it probably would open up with heat but remember it's a budget hunting rifle. Don't expect it to do what it wasn't designed to do.

I have this XPR rifle in .30-06 and it's great. The only issue I've had is after firing the first round from the magazine I'd attempt to load the second, but if I pushed the bolt forward slowly the angled part of the bolt body (an inch behind the bolt face) would fetch up on the last round in the mag causing the bottom cartridge to dip down in the magazine at the tip of the round and jamming the bolt. Making it impossible to push the top round into the chamber without unloading and reloading first. Now I've not had an issue if I push the bolt forward in a fluid motion and with some authority, but IMO you shouldn't have to ram it home for it not to jam on you. This isn't concerning while hunting deer or at the range of course but in the event of a charging bear or follow up shots on moose or elk this would be life threatening or discouraging at the least. Anyone else having this issue?

Poly. I own an XPR. Great rifle but you have to remember it's a budget rifle so most things on it are cheap. The barrel is good though which is the heart of any rifle. Mine along with every other XPR I have seen group under an inch with most ammo at 100 yards.

1). Also ran, nothing special, not really a Winchester. A repackaged Browning. 2). The detachable magazine only aspect of this rifle makes it even less appealing. 3). The Marlin X7 series of rifles was an updating of the Post 64 Model 70s. It vindicated the design. Aside from the ugly Savage barrel nut and lack of a hinged floorplate option, this was an incredible, budget rifle. Winchester, or FN licensing the name more properly, should move in that direction, update the post 64 70 with a rotating bolt head, model 700 top contour for Remington scope bases, use a medium weight barrel as Remington is doing with the 783 and add a hinged floorplate, not a low quality, detachable magazine. Add a Savage type trigger. Call it a Model 80 Winchester and market it up against Remington 700/7, Howa/Weatherby at the price of a Ruger American. That's a Winchester I'd buy.

No you are not alone, I love wood stocks but it seems these companies want to charge another 800 plus for a good wood stock, I just got the xpr 7mm and I'm looking for a wood stock for it 😂
