I bought that Ziss breeder box since my hang on box had the habit of clogging in the overflow. I also had baby plecos escaping and getting eaten, so I switched to the Ziss and had a much higher survival rate. At $30 it’s much more expensive than a cheap Marineland but since I’m saving so many specialty plecos it’s made up the cost in saved livestock.

Do you need to worry about the snails climbing out?

Larger the snail the more likely it is to happen but with a lower water level or tight glass lids shouldn't worry too much.

Not often but yes I have had that happen, I'm actually working on switching all my mops to moss. The guppies its great for but the plecos in large numbers may have a problem here and there
