This is the sort of music that you listen to with your heart ❤️ … makes me remember that humans aren’t all bad even though at times it seems that way.

Isn’t Gurrumul’s voice otherworldly?! Angels would shed tears hearing a voice so beautiful. This is true high art - it carries us aloft to another realm. It transforms us. RIP Gurrumul. And thank you for the privilege ❤

I just discovered this amazing artist, his amazing angelic voice immediately touched my heart, I felt like coming home, what a voice, what a pure soul, and then i read that he does not live anymore on this earth, what a loss, but I think he is to sensitive for this heavyness on our earth now. Sing with the angels dear soul, thank you for your gifts you left us.

When I gave his album to a friend from West Papua he told me he cried. He said something like the vibe was very simpatico with the chanting of indigenous WEST PAPUA. These were recorded by indigenous anthropologist Arnold App, who was imprisoned and murdered by forces of the Suharto regime, still effectively in power through the recent election to presidency of Probowo. Abriginal, West Papua, Tibet - the basic vibe is the greatest love in our known universe: parent to children, maternal love . Its present in the heart of Geoffrey Gurrumuls art snd performance. In sculpture by Muchealangrlis Pieta/ the Prity.

Only discovered his music the other week. Im 56 and never heard of him and i have a diverse range of music interests. How his music went under my radar is strange. Im not a fan of the native australian music that i hear in the likes of Yothu Yindi (RIP), trying to gain music staus in the hiphop bubblegum type msic we heard and still do in these days. Gurrumul music just hits a note in your heart, even though you dont understand the Yolngu tongue. So beautiful.
