The appeal to me of your videos is that they are unscripted, unedited and authentic. I'm a guitar player and guitar related info is why I'm here. Unless you learn to survive setting your hair on fire every week you will probably continue to attract musicians and not casual viewers. I'm glad you know your lane and you stay in it. Of all the KZbin music teachers I've watched (dozens over the years) you have been my biggest influence. Many thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience.

THANK YOU, GT! Your explanation, and the fact you share all of this wonderful information with us is SO appreciated!! To all who struggle with this, just keep at it, your playing WILL go next level if you put just a little bit of time into this kind of study. Seriously, just 15 minutes of playing with purpose per day will have you understanding this stuff all over the fret board. The thing that helped me the most is learn all the shapes in one key first. (I started with C) Do that and nothing else until you can play that comfortably up and down the neck in all the shapes. Then add the fifth of that key and play those two keys in all of the shapes and nothing else. In just a couple of weeks you won't believe how much knowledge of the guitar you'll have. Outstanding stuff I wish I knew 30 years ago!! God bless you, GT and everyone embarking on this amazing journey!! 🤠👍

You’re doing great man! Don’t feel like you have to defend or explain to folks your approach vs. how others approach their channels. Now, on the playing- I think the problem a lot of us have is - Ok so we learn all the inversions on the neck, and I get that allows you play your 1-4-5 anywhere on the neck.. but beyond that the light bulb just hasn’t popped on for me on how this whole concept is APPLIED to an actual song, or lead playing, etc. It just feels like an exercise and sounds really “scale-y” to me…

Hey Guthrie - totally agree on many points here, from buying local to this guitar thing we all enjoy. I'd love to see a Truefire from you be just on Caged...chord construction, etc., and really dig in to how you think about it in a practical way. Dude, I'll be 54 yrs old on the 24th of this August, born and raised in Detroit, and I grew up listening to that incredible rhythm section and playing by the funk brothers laying down all those Motown sessions for Mr. Berry Gordy and whoever Smokey Robinson wrote a song for, and Guthrie Trapp, you are one Badass, a cool laid back mofo and you inspired my old ass to get my guitar back out and play again and learn my instrument...along with an inspiring video by Rick Beato that I seen recently...I can still learn things at my age...an older age...He started his youtube channel at 54 yrs old and look at him now. I actually understand what the caged system is now and how it relates to the fretboard...it helped my ear develop also, I became a better player just learning that C shaped D Major chord right there between the 3rd and 5th frets and everything is right there...my hand doesn't go know where all the same Cowboy chord tonality for D G C chords right from the C shape D chord...I had no clue on what I was doing previously and it wasn't like I couldn't play songs from beginning to end prior. I became a better player instead of just playing on it like a toy.

One comment based on what I8 AM HEARING GUTHRIE SAY = I get it, = don't sweat pro tools you are in the music Capital of the world and you are good Enough to get the Master Production people so to speak = to be begging at your door, so, it is a excellent position to be in and not to worry about messing with pro tools on your own besides it is like a killer guitar player playing a 20.00 guitar irt doesn't matter the man will still sound Excellent yea the better the instr ument cool but it is the man making the music not the quality of the instrument it all helps but that is another story right? GUTHRIE? RIGHT. COOL.. MIKE............ P.S. I do own 34 killer guitars that took my lifetime to acquire and i am very proud of them all and they are each different voices to play and perform music with and god willing I WILL CONTININUE TO GET THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO JUST T HAT . either way I STILL APPRECIATE GUTHRIE HELPING PEOPLE LIKE ME & YOU, ALONG THIS PATH. = I APPRECEATE HIM A LOT, A REAL, LOT. A MILLION THANKS, = GO OUT TO HIM .STAY SAFE AND HEATHY.. BROTHER IT MEANS A LOT TO US ALL THAT GET IT.............. . MIKE..
