I don't think that big copper is as damaged as you may think. They were hand poured and stamped and all of them have irregularities in the image and border. More than likely a 20-35 dollar coin to the right buyer.

@@Silverpicker To be honest, those older Russian coins, even though not that valuable, are really cool, and a celebration of just how *unique* Russian currency has always been. From denominations (Soviet coins had 15 kopek coins, and, as you saw, 25 ruble notes), to content choices (yeesh, that 5-kopek coin was almost a hockey puck), you can clearly see the Russians have always done things their own way, and it shows. So, I'd see it as more of an entertainment thing, than a serious investment. Was a sampler of Russian monetary history worth $31.75? That's on you to decide.

@TheVoitel5 жыл бұрын
You might consider cleaning the bills with ozone. This does not harm non oxidising colors (which bills should have, else they’d fade pretty fast), but it oxidizes organic stuff, thereby neutralizing olefactoric components. You’d just need a low output ozone generator (best one with battery, you can get these for about 20$), an airtight bag and a nice day, for it’s best to do this outdoors, even if the produced amount of ozone isn’t that high. Then put the spread bills into a bag, put in the generator to that the airways are not blocked, switch it on and seal the bag with quite bit of air inside, leave it for some time, open it (best outside, and try not to breath in the enclosed air), and your bills should smell nice and fresh again. Btw., I wouldn’t say it was a scam. The worth of a coin is something quite hard to make out, and according to some people here, you underpriced some of these coins. But even without that, as long as you don’t plan to make a profit by selling these separately again, you’re getting quite a nice set of coins, and I do believe that the seller considers this to be worth about 100$. You estimated this at just over 2/3 of that price, which is quite good compared to the 1/3 you got from the 18$ package and the just over 1/2 for the 75$ (which is including the fake california gold token for buying two of them). So you do actually get quite a bit of the value you’ve been promised from it. The pack is rather small, but then it doesn’t contain the load of standard trash you’d find in the scam packages, but a small collection of slightly interesting coins and some very interesting historic coins.
@tinovanderzwanphonocave5445 жыл бұрын
I'm a paper restorer and you don't need anything as fancy as ozone just piping hot water dunk them in let them rest a bit and take them out then lay them out on a Plexiglas plate cover them with several layers of towels (of the textile variety) and press them then let the bills on the plate under the towels slowly dry for a couple of days and then they are as good as new no smell no little spots no stains all clean! ps if the colors start running in the hot water bath then your bills are fake (could happen movie props and such)
