When i was in college we made the showers into a hot tub with some boards and a plastic sheet. At the end of the night we slit the plastic to let the water out. About 30 min later the fire alarms went off... but not how they should.. buzzing, crackling... We went to the head of the floor to see if what was up, and if we needed to evacuate. Seems it was only alarming on the floor above & below us.. something was wrong with the system. Getting back to our suite, we found our carpet was was soaked... and we figured it must have been from our hot tub.. we closed our door. A bit later we spoke with the head of the floor and that the fire alarm was a shorted out from the boiler tanks leaking at the top of the building.... We put up fans and dried everything out, making sure out door stayed closed all weekend, never speaking about it outside the 8 of us, no one suspecting we caused it.

Rough, quick translation of the letter : "Mister, Madam, Following multiple complaints, we have discovered that multiple drains have been obstructed, as well as multiple gardens, with different sizes of marbles. Please check in your garden, we have sent a requests (sic) for analysis, to determine if those are dangerous for the environment. Please know that any inhabitant who found this substance on their terrain must file a complaint against the person(s) responsible for this pollution in order to obtain a penal sanction. We have filed a complaint at the [police station] in order to determine the origin of this pollution. Of course you'll be informed at every step." This is the final coffin in the nail. First, an official document doesn't contain obvious grammar errors that only an idiot would make. Second, you can't force someone to lodge a complaint. You can initiate a class action ; If it's city-wide, the city officials can lodge a complaint on behalf of the city, but you can't say "You must file a complaint". Even if I've been assaulted and I know who it is with undeniable proof, I can choose not to press charges if I so damn will. A city official won't tell you that you have to file a complaint, they can do it themselves. Third, he says he received that letter in his mailbox right after walking his dog. If he went to walk his dog in the same day, that's extremely fishy. French bureaucracy isn't that fast, you don't receive a letter ~1 hour after it's happened. He'd have received it the day after, at the very least.

Ppl just don’t think about how things can afffect other things when you “flush” or empty the drain.... Worst things I’ve seen, an apartment complex was clocked from sanitary pads from some ppl flushing them😉 Hope never have to see these, & wonder if the salt “does” work🤷🏼♂️ Cheers✌🏼

When I was working landscaping, we'd use this substance known as "swell gel" (or P4), which was basically silica particles that you'd add water to. What we would do is mix this with the soil when planting anywhere that wasn't irrigated, then the silica would hold water and the roots could tap into it.
@TeDynef3 жыл бұрын
Like dirt and earth does? Omg.... just why
@tobiasmills96473 жыл бұрын
@@TeDynef it helps to retain water for longer periods of time, so instead of watering a lawn every other day, it has a slow release mechanism so that you'd water it once a week instead.
Just so you're aware, the original videos were staged, he didn't actually clog all his city's drains with orbeez or get an order from the gendarmerie.

I don't know about Orbees, but when I worked for Roto-Rooter (this was late 1980's) we got called to Santa Clara County jail where inmates dumped rice down the drain. The rice swelled and came up the toilet, floor drains and sinks in the bathrooms near the culinary area. We used shovels to remove the rice from toilets, wet vac to clear what we could from floor drains. We used cable machines with hose attachment to clear the rice. I can't remember how many hours we spent clearing those drains. The point is, if it swells when wet, don't put it down the drain! Love your channel!

If I did, I’d probably scream in terror for about a minute or two because that’d probably occlude the heck out of a bar screen. You were actually wrong and he spoke correctly you just misheard him and 2. You also misspelled the word amusing.

Hey Roger! Saw this Vid, I sent it to my coworker for the Shock. Next day we got a work order for a “disposal” issue. Pulled her PTrap and sure enough a relative situation! This woman poured psyllium husk down her drain!!! It Absorbed all the water and created a gel like seal throughout the drain, completed compacted the drain. Luckily she was in the first floor, not effecting the top floors. Solution-5Gal Hot Water, pour down affected drain (WITH PTRAP PROPERLY ASSEMBLED) let water stand till finally passes-after I filled the PTrap with baking soda and poured vinegar down drain, little by little DONT just empty a bottle in sink or they’ll be more issues. It cleared up pretty. (Apartment Maintance Tech-Austin Tx)

I run a drain cleaning business and I have seen all kinds of stuff in sewers. Wipes, tampons, condoms, are the most common things. One time I unclogged a sewer at an apartment house and when I got through the clog I saw a huge amount of sequins flow down the line. I also pulled out cleaning wipes, latex gloves, paper towels. This guy really did a doozy here. I seen a neighborhood 10” sewer main backed up with wipes one time. It took me 45 minutes with my Ridgid k-7500 drain machine to get through the three foot long clog of wipes. The amount of water that came through was incredible. There were 7 houses complaining about sewer backing up. So you can just imagine the what it looked like.
