timothyy pearson I hear you. A big difference now vs. then is that most young black folks & their parents came up on Hip-hop, & "gangsta rap/street rap" at that & that lifestyle. So all they got to show is shallow. No love, passion or knowledge for music. Just straight follow-what-the-next-man/woman-do-as-long-as-its-popular now. On the flipside tho, Hip-hop lost alot when they recently had issues with sample clearances. Hip-hop is built on rapping lyrics over a break beat, so it requires other music, unless u play ur own shit. So therefor the production these days sound straight mechanical with no soul & typical trap shit since they do it from scratch & most of them lack that skill.

Legit!... Looking sharp, I remember dressing up like that, taking a woman out, chillin', it was definitely different back then. It was real. Men and women were really looking for a relationship, if it didn't work it was ok. I was in my early 20s, it seems like my generation were a bit serious about being with someone instead of just hooking up. There were one night stands, but the real woman would play a little hard to get, making the thrill of the chase much better. :-)

It was in the middle of the night, when I first heard it. That song just blew my mind. I was in Germany also when I heard it. I had to learn the words and sing it with this band I was in. I am quite surprised that I remember and know the lyrics to this song. I may be young, but I grew up around this music. Real music, if you ask me. I would much rather listen to this then the main stream songs nowadays. This is real singers. Real voices. Real music. Quite rare for my time.

Real music... I'm 44 and didn't play this song back to back, but this was in heavy rotation at cookouts, weddings, babyshowers, gatherings, etc over the course of my life... I know every single lyriq to this song.. how Sway?!?!?! #realR&B
