I've been riding for 43 years, longer than most sports bike riders have been alive. And when I ride a new bike for the first time, I take it easy until I'm out of the parking lot so I can get a feeling of how it throttles, brakes and balances. Most new riders will stall out on take off, he didnt. Ride safe and enjoy the ride. ✌️

You can clearly see rider trying to nuzzle down into the seat and give the bike an ever so slight wiggle. Gets his arms locked on and comfy while he adjusts himself too. Then he feathers the throttle just slightly over idle once he is settled in and feels comfortable. He is being chill to not piss off your neighbors, getting the feel for the bike asap, and checking his steering and torque response so he knows somewhat of what he is dealing with before its too late and catches him by surprise. So, praise the guy. Don’t try and shame him.

I had been riding 13 years which isn’t long compared to some people but it certainly isn’t short. I sold my bike for one of those years and was riding a lot of cruisers and enduros. One day a friend invited me to a track day on a little R3. Needless to say I stalled it when getting on at first and was a bit slow getting used to foot position and seating position. After about 5 minutes or so I was riding it just fine though. Perhaps this is a similar case. He bought this bike, doesn’t want to break it, nervous since eyes are on him and it’s a unique seating position to what he’s used to… the only critique I have is put on some damn gear man!

Actually going fast on the bike with no experience leads to noobs in the telephone pole. Better to let him wobble at 3-4k a bit, all it helps with is stability, if that’s your definition of all round easier. He’ll prolly get the hang of it but there no doubt this is sketchy and moronic with no gear

Every model of bike feels different. Different wheelbase, different weight and where it carries it, different response to steering inputs, different throttle and brake response, much more than in four wheelers. I remember my first and second bikes. They felt so completely different in all those things. Best to lean into all those things slowly. There's no cage to protect you from screwups.
