have you ever noticed how sho's origin story is fairly similar to spiderman. and he also maintains that wholesome protect your loved ones that spidey does too. he has that same vibe and i think its so great but mushoku tensei's rudeus is a serious contender for best human arc imo and guyver has been my favorite for over a decade

I'm gonna say the same thing I said above: *Be fair,* lady. She's an untrained, non-combative, middle-class 16 year old girl who in the past few weeks has: [1] seen human beings transform into monstrous creatures. [2] Been kidnapped multiple times by said creatures [3] Was imprisoned against her will [4] been forced to be on the run like an outlaw [5] seen more death than many hardened soldiers [6] been ripped away from most of her family, friends, school, and everything that she knew as normal [7] is constantly being hunted or forced into conflicts with no way to defend herself [8] Is now being told that aliens are REAL [9] now to face a kinda harsh truth that all of humanity may be nothing more than a failed experiment made as a biological weapon for war, effectively belittling her human nature. That would be a lot for anybody to have to roll with, much less a chick whose biggest worries up to recently was liking some guy and student council work. Some grown adults end up with PTSD after losing a loved one in a simple Car accident. Yeah, her whining is annoying and a bit self indulgent... but its _not_ beyond human understanding, is it?

@@Shenruss Mizuki always had a divided opinion as a character from fans. Some can sympathize with her existential breakdown after all she’s been forced to see so far; others consider her useful only in keeping Sho’s morale on check; there are those hate her for being whiny and never lending a helping hand in the action (how can she, anyway?); and finally, the more cynical ones are fine with her because of the fanservice (sorely missing in this adaptation). The recent chapters of the manga were just starting to expand Mizuki’s role as an “emotional crutch”/“mother figure” by having her live with Alky, but the series has been on hiatus ever since. I think Mizuki is hexed.

This is where it all falls apart for me. If Guyver's were so powerful they made the Creators run away, then why do the Guyver's spend the entire series getting their asses handed to them?

Well the guyvers are powerful alright but in the right hands. If the guyvers' host was me for example this series could end up only one episode. I'd wipe them all up with my skills. Heheje

+resioil1 Well as much as odie is a braggart (frankly speaking I doubt any of us could figure out how the hell to use those things and would be just as awkward as Sho when we start that) he's got a point - it amplifies the host's power and, more importantly, it's only extremely powerful if you know how to use it. The Creators were curious as to how the Guyvers would work under their subjects, so it's likely they taught them how to use it first. And as the series progresses, Sho and the Dark Guyver start becoming more and more powerful, learning how to use it, to the point they defeated the Zoalords and the like. The first Guyver users were probably incredibly powerful, not just physically but because they knew how to use every aspect of the Guyver AND use their intelligence to use it in creative and deadly ways. I think it's referenced that the Guyvers' presence wasn't what ultimately scared the Creators away, but that they had other things to do. It did, however, unnerve them that the potential in their creations was a lot stronger than they expected.

Jimmysticks because the Guyver's haven't discovered the true extent of their powers yet here. As the Manga progresses Guyver eventually discovers how to transform into the Guyver Gigantic Exceed and defeats a giant Zoalord.

The extra context for the premise and characters is appreciated but the reimagining to have original arcs and giving different enemies more agency is interesting but very risky being hit and miss so far. The dialogue has gotten better too. I don’t doubt the voice actors but only a knockout performance or ad lib can fix bad writing .

@@ewancook351 Enzyme was specifically created to kill Guyver because of the data Chronos possessed on Guyver 2. The Enzymes were specific to kill the bio boosted armor. Xenomorph acid would have no effect. Guyver = DEADLY!!!

I'm guessing these aliens are particularly long lived, and gave *thorough* testing to each phase of the creatures, from single-celled organisms, to mankind and all the beast in between, trying to figure which creature would be best for which environment. Just because our modern day computers are incredible, that doesn't mean a TI 82 _Doesn't_ have its uses, you know? I'm guessing it was much the same with them, until that "Oh Shit!" moment with Guyver 0 came about and they just _Noped!_ the hell out. Perhaps they figured we'd kill ourselves off, or that we'd never be able to follow them, so left us to our own devices. In the last manga chapters, there's a warrior from space with armor made of the same material as the Guyver control medals, so I'm guessing _they_ made some advancements in the millennia since.
