My brother is, and he tried to make me say yes..... So I went online and signed the opt out. I give blood. That's how I save lives! If my local hospital, ( that I live near,) did an honour walk for him, I wouldn't join in. In fact, not only would never go back to that hospital, I would even consider moving house, as I can see my local hospital from my bedroom window. With me, it's my blood, or it's nothing. : ]

I think it's so important that the people and their families who released their organs are honored. It is by no means a matter of course. My family was in a situation where we had to make choices for our loved one. Nobody should have to make this decision, hence my request to everyone out there !! Register as an organ donor. Help other people with it! There is nothing worse than man, woman, mother, father, daughter, son, deciding whether to turn off the machines that keep the loved one alive.🥺 Thanks to all people💕🙏

I watched your video with tears running down my face. I, too, lost my mother at probably the same age as you girls did. My mother was only 49 so she was young like yours. And like your mother, mine also died of a brain injury, an aneurysm in her brain stem. When it happened, there was virtually no hope for recovery and like your mother, she also had 3 kids who adored her. We had to make the decision to take her off life support, probably just like you. It wasn't easy. I feel and know the pain you're in. I send you my deepest sympathy and love. I wish I had something to say to ease the pain but words are so inadequate. When I lost my mother, people would tell me how to grieve and for how long. Don't listen to that advice. Only you know how to grieve; it's a personal thing. Take all the time you need and take one day at a time. My mother has been gone for years now but I still miss her so much and yes, I still grieve for her. Allow yourselves to miss and love your mother always. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. ❤❤❤❤❤

Thank you Gwen. My Grandfather passed away when i was 13, and was an organ donor, his eyes helped a man see. Shortly after he passed, I found this poem. It really hit hard because he passed away in May. It was Sonnets 18 by William Shakespeare. Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? Thou Art more lovely and more temperate: rough winds do shake the darling buds of May, and Summers lease has all too short a date; sometimes too hot the eye of Heaven shines, and often his gold complexion dimm'd; and every fair from Fair sometime declines, by chance or Nature's changing course on untrimm'd; but thy eternal Summer shall not fade nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st; Nor shalle death brag that wander'st in his shade, when internal lines to time they'll grow'st: so long as men can breathe or eyes can see, so long lives this, and gives life to thee...

In 51 and a donor too and my children and grandchildren know my wishes to help anyone who needs a part of me. I believe that everyone can help in this way. Why not help others when our soul is no longer in our body that God gave us to live in for a time, whether long life or short, there are so many that can benefit from what we no longer need to survive. I hope that when my time comes that they take eyes, heart, lungs , skin, liver, and every part that's available and then ID like to be cremated so that my family can put a little part of me in keepsakes because my soul will live on. I fully believe in organ donation..

I am a nursing sister that worked in Tygerburg Hospital in South Africa about 34 years ago. We were assigned to work with the donors and to keep them alive until transplants. I was 18 years old, still a child and did not allways understand why a child or a young person or anyone had to die. 2 years into my training I still could not understand why? Why would God put a family through this heartache? Untill I lost a friend. You cannot explain or even talk to anyone about this because you cannot explain the deep hurt and pain you feel in your heart. You are so young yourself and you struggle just to grow up and make sence of everything. I know there is a God and I know that there is a better place for us all after life. If we do not believe in that, why do we even exist. Still. Difficult to explain that to anyone that has lost someone close to them. A day, a week, a month, a year or forever from now. It will never be easy. I wish I did not have to stand next to my 19 year old friends death bed at the hospital I worked and did not have to face his parents at his funeral. He will allways be in my heart and in my mind. I will forever love him as a friend. RIP.

I now have 3 daughers, his mom was one of my mom's best friends. He was their only son. She never had grandchildren from him. His father commited suicide because he could not handle his sons death or the way he died. He was killed by someone he knew but it was rulled in court as an accidental death. It still hurts and allways will because I still see him at my last year end function dancing with me, smilling, happy and just being in love with life.

My brother is 29 years old and passed away on 01-07-21 and his walk of honor was today. I'm here trying to cope. God bless you all and God bless all receiving families and may God bless our heroes 😭💔🙏

I'm so sorry for your loss...Do you know it was promised by God in the bible that you will see your brother again here on earth, "the hour is coming in which all those on the memorial tombs will hear Jesus voice and come out." John 5:28,29. And God will "wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor pain be anymore." (Revelation 21:4) Please hang in there, and I'm so sorry for your loss 😢
