Monsters have slowly been receiving provision buffs in the bronze end and many matchups right now have wide punish so I felt like going tall today. Out of all the Viy decks I've played, this one feels the most comfortable. In this video you'll find 5 games with live commentary for reference.

@@avocadotalks1426 is that really the right way to play against Viy? If the opponent survives R2, you have a short round against a huge Viy. That sounds difficult to beat...

I recommend trying to win round 1 and go for a long round 3 where your engines have a greater shot against Viy's point slam. If you can answer 1-2 consume engines and save a tall punish for their tallest one it's not so bad. Playing into Viy has a lot of similarities as playing into Alumni where it pushes you to play expensive cards early for round control and attempt to deny carryover.

I just gave this a try (some changes in bronze end) and holy its strong. I only lost a single game to a random cantarella. Such good bleed potential with the only card in the deck feeling committal being haunt.

@@samamirparviz6279 In my first version I just switched out the pigs for wild hunt riders. Today I messed around with the deck a bit more, ended up cutting the succubus package because I never really played it, and when I did it didn't feel very good to play.

Can't really afford getting locked on our 4p consume engines and I didnt think a purify was necessary in the deck since we can just consume things if they get poisoned etc.

Nice deck! I was just wondering, as Viy isthe main unit what if it gets banish from your deck or "Yennified" early in the game? I think the worst faction to play agsinst would be NG.

The idea is to consume the card the turn it's played so that it goes back into your deck and the opponent can't interact with it. Whenever we float Viy it's a big risk but if we have consume units on the board or leader charges we shouldn't have to. It's only the last turn of the game where Viy would be played from hand and left on the board normally.

Frost has so many devotion payoffs that it would be a lot less effective to play it as non devotion. I was willing to bet the game they were devotion in that case.

The reason why I didn't go for Cursed Scroll was that we have a lot of consume engines at 4p that we may need to float since we can't just stick Viy on the board in most cases. I felt like this would be a good way to get the round started to prevent easy removal or a lock. Being able to use our consume engines early is a pretty big deal so that we can preserve leader charges for late game for round 3 Viy slam and Succubus consumes.

i made an ng deck to counter this deck specifically with warritt, cantarella, kingslayer, invo, and joaqim lol. i warritt the viy to the top of the deck then cantarella it (if viy is in their hand then i kingslayer). if they play viy i invo and joaqim

The funny thing is the same card in this video (Unicorn) is the same card that counters the Viy card. Just wait for Viy to pass round 1 and just slam your own Unicorn to put the Viy in the graveyard,, usually, they just concede :)

The last few days I had killer headaches so my sleep schedule has been inconsistent but normally I will play my games around 8-9am so that I can reply to comments on my recent upload between matches. I usually have my video finished around 12-1pm and uploaded scheduled to show the following morning at 8am EDT. I try to get things done early so I don't stress about the deadline pretty much.

I think we're going tall enough already with this deck and taller becomes more vulnerable. I'd probably go for a control option here like a squirrel, or Natural Selection if I swapped the WHW out.

I was hoping someone to make a good deck around slyzard now that its provision has been buffed! This deck got me to pro rank super fast. I played with the cursed scroll and sometimes it was indeed difficult to get the eating engines down if the opponent had a lot of removal. In those moments I used the scroll to get the Haunt out instead of Viy. In retrospect the skull might have been a better option but both work for sure. The biggest struggle was against meditating mages that got me totally rekt and I was lucky enough not to encounter any NG mill decks as they might get rid off your Viy in the deck easily. Great work, man! Love your detailed videos.

Good take!. This is my version: I use Cursed scroll as the stratagem as it gives me effective an extra play of Viy. No Haunt, instead double Barbegazi that are hard to remove. Megascopes for more Barbegazi. Matta hu'uri and Fisher King for extra Viys, but no Prince Villem, he somehow always hits the only card you don't want (for me at least). Artefact compression and Squirrel as filler tech cards. I included a Kayran to secure the tall units in the last push. www.playgwent.com/en/decks/guides/313816

Bro give us a 85% or 90% rate deck. I have watched your every video and following your channel last 3/4 months. Previous season was fantastic for me but this season my win ratio is pretty low 😭😭😭

I went 5-1 with this one today or a 83.33% WR and the loss was a throw. Got greedy and took Prince round 1, got really bad pulls and went 3 cards down then forfeited the game. I have no problem showing losses but that one was just a sad story. When I look into WR statistics generally anything over 65% is pretty good and 70% would be considered incredible. There are some things we just can't control like coin, matchup, whether opponent plays better etc. and once you get a good win streak going you'll be matched against more competitive players. A lot of the high numbers you see are going to be short term stats that often don't hold in the long run (25+ games).

Does not work well at rank 2. Everybody seems to have ultimate control decks and destroy any consumers on sight. They keep two tall punish cards for the end of round 3 end and it's impossible to win. This deck was OP year ago. Now it's only good with surprise momentum which is already gone.

First of all, the idea that certain decks are "immoral" is completely ridiculous. There is no such thing. It is a buildable deck in the game. What makes Alumni or Elves any more "moral" then VIY ? The thought that certain decks are off limits or that someone will give you hard time is just a complete joke.
