Lived and fished in Newquay for over 30 years and never heard of this pop up pollack rig, cheers for the tip. Great video as always!

To be honest I haven’t seen all that many folks using it, even down here but it really is effective! It’s not the only ingenious rig for pollacking from the old school days - I got told about one for float fishing that was particularly clever but I can’t remember the details of it now. It used some kind of tethering system so you could cast and drift the float out as normal but then you could release the trace somehow to float fish really deep, like 30 feet or more. Wish I could remember how it worked now! 😅

Glad you enjoyed it, I think it would travel really well that rig - fluttering the bait up over the kelp really seems to get the pollack excited!
