@kachiskid

Not bad Melinda. It really depends on what you want your scooter to do. The higher RPM springs are going to make your clutch engage later. It takes more pressure to push out. If your happy with your originals, why change?

@@gary3696 thanks for the compliment....Not sure of the torques ranges but I always knew I was going to change my final gearing when changing over to this current setup. Soon will be going to a 16/36 over the 13/40 that are bikes have. Also I haven't dropped my A9 cam in yet and still working with my A14, which in my mind increased my torque quite a bit but gives up at the end. I did notice that with the 2000 rpm spring, my "2nd" gear on the CVT kicks in around 40 mph, and just wants to go....I think the A14 is holding her back...of course this is all in theory... I just figured in building my bike, "go big or go home" and see what works and what doesn't.

I'm curious. I noticed your 2000RPM spring has seven coils. The product listing shows five coils. I've read that the shorter five coil springs are for 50cc to 80cc while the seven coils are for 125cc to 180cc. Most of the springs I'm finding online have the five coils, though.

You my friend, are on point. I'm not really sure, something maybe a forum can answer.
@XSevenSonata
@XSevenSonata 4 жыл бұрын
Haha okay, just wanted to make sure I get the right springs. I read that some people have noticed top end changes and some noticed torque changes. But, what I've found is that the longer seven coil springs have more compression, being for the 125cc to 180cc. I'm wondering if some merchants are just using stock images or people buying the wrong spring size. I'll see what I can find.
@kachiskid
@kachiskid 4 жыл бұрын
@@XSevenSonata Bro, it absolutely makes sense. That is crazy that I didn't even notice, and just trusted the color. Now you got me thinking, I will check my older spring and update you what I find.
@XSevenSonata
@XSevenSonata 4 жыл бұрын
Okay I give up lol. The only thing I could find from forums is that the wrong size can be used just fine, but, the results may be different. So a "50cc" 1500 for example gives a different result than a "150cc" 1500 depending on what it's being used on. You may find better results, but, that's all I can find is that the seven coil springs have a slightly higher compression. I still plan on playing around with the transmission, though. But, that's a puzzle.
@XSevenSonata
@XSevenSonata 4 жыл бұрын
Okay. So what I found. The longer coil main spring (usually seven coils) is for 125cc - 180cc, the shorter spring (usually five coils) is for 50cc - 100cc. Both sizes apparently fit and useable, but, the longer coil spring will be more difficult to compress in a 50cc - 100cc because they have a small clutch. Longer spring has more compression. Aside from that, though. Results will vary if using a different spring size. A short spring shouldn't effect top end as much as a longer spring is being used in a 150cc considering less compression, however, it may not affect low end much, either. That's all I could find. Some merchants seem to be using stock images and showing the wrong spring size, so, I've just been checking with them to be sure before ordering. Unfortunately, they're out of stock and I have to wait. My plan is a stiffer spring and heavier weights to compensate. But, I wonder if that will cancel it out? I mean. Let's say for example. If I want more low end and use heavier weights with a stiffer spring to compensate top end loss, will the heavier weights basically reduce the low end from the stiffer springs so that theres no point in using stiffer springs?

Hey buddy, have been low on upgrade funds as of late so rather than purchasing an entire new clutch like I wanted, I purchased and installed a complete set of Glixal red 2000rpm springs on my stock clutch last night. I’ve only street-tested it for about half an hour last night but I’m experiencing jerking or surges (unsure of the correct term) during initial takeoff from 0 to say 5 or 10 mph. For example pulling out onto a street from a parking lot it starts smooth for a second then mid turn jerks or wants to take off and is pretty scary as any type of speed increase in mid turn can be dangerous (3 wreck track record lol). Thanks for any advice you or anyone else can offer.

Upgraded and stock clutch. I did try the stock just in case. But, I figured with the nut actually threading onto the pulley shaft and not the clutch, it might not have helped to try the stock. It didn't, though. Then I tries stock spring for less tension. That didnt help, but, again, even with no spring, the nut just won't seem to go on the pulley shaft. It just keeps spinning around. I've swapped springs maybe about five times trying to find which is best for me. The 2000 was nice, but, unfortunately I ride on streets that need more top end, so, that's when I decided to go with a lighter spring.

Kachi's Kid I focus on more stability not High Performance. Where you would follow tutorial to go faster, I just make sure I have the right clearance, the right gap plug, my oil is at 7.5 mm mark, and all of my parts are working new flawless. Never needed to replace my clutch because if you don’t notice, the stock clutch is at 1500 RPM with 13g rollers. Picks up slow but gave u the highest top-end. When the engine is hot enough it picks up too fast n gave u the best performance. With the 2000 RPM u r making the clutch bell rotating at a greater capacity then because it focuses only to give u FTW it doesn’t gave u the top speed let’s say 60+ on flat surface, rather u struggle at 53, n barely make it 55.
