It’s incredibly cheap for its durability! I literally do not use my wipers during heavy rain. I know how that sounds. But I don’t. Visibility is clear even when stopped in pouring rain. And once I get rolling again the water flies up the windshield in an incredible manner. It’s really an impressive product. Love the video and your educational approach to auto detailing.

Todd, Would it be appropriate to use GYEON PREP on the windows also in the cleaning process to remove anything? Or is the glass cleaner enough? I wasn't sure if PREP was stronger or the glass cleaner was stronger? Or should both be used at different stages? Great video by the way, thanks for posting. I will definitely be trying the GYEON window product as well as the other GYEON products. I have heard some amazing things about all the GYEON products. Do you have any experience with their new paint polish, compound, and primer they just added to their products? What is your take on those?

With this on your car how do you deice the windows in the winter without damaging or removing the coating? I assume a scrapper is no good and same with the brush.
@Esotericdetail3 жыл бұрын
Don't over-think it...just de-ice as you normally would. An ice scraper isn't going to "peel it off".

ESOTERIC Hello, I'm asking this to many of the detailing people out here and hoping to get some good thoughts and answers. I've been using the ceramic coating methods lately and I've given thought to something that's easily missed but something I think could be important to the coating. So when I coat a vehicle I always coat the entire car, including the windows, windshield and sunroofs. Just as many people used to and still does apply Rain-x I prefer the ceramic coating itself, and I love it and rarely have to use the wiper blades. But for those times when we do use the wiper blades and washer fluid, very often a fluid from a local store like Rainx, Windex or Prestone brand etc is used and I'm almost sure it eats away at the ceramic coating every time it's used. As we know it not only hits the windshields but also the tops and rear of the vehicles as it runs off. If the normal washer fluids are strong enough to clean windshields from the usual contaminates I'm sure they're strong enough to deteriorate the ceramic coating, as anything with alcohol or even Dawn dish detergent will. So something I've been thinking about is, what would be a good substitute for all of the usual windshield washer fluids or are there maybe new products that I haven't seen anyone talking about that would be safer to use to wash the windshield those times we need to while driving, when we don't feel like or have the opportunity to physically wipe down the window by hand with a ceramic booster / cleaner? I personally use some products on my cars' ceramic from Adam's, like the Ceramic Waterless Wash spray and H20 Guard and Gloss, and the ph neutral car shampoos. What do you think about putting some of these in the washer fluid tank and maybe diluting a little with water? Or would this be a bad idea because I'm not actually wiping down with a microfiber but instead just swiping with the wiper blades when necessary? I may be overlooking something here but I feel like this is a small thing but also something that could deteriorate our ceramic faster than we'd like it to and not really think about it as it's happening. Please all responses are welcome and if there is no good substitute hopefully this will help some companies work towards it if possible. I'm sure it's been thought of but you never know. Thanks
@Esotericdetail4 жыл бұрын
Our advice...don't worry about it! With all due respect, I think you're over-thinking the situation, and the "what-if" scenario involved. You can't control all of the elements that attack the surface, which is why you simply regularly maintain with coating-specific maintenance products as they are there to act as sacrificial layers to the coating.
@Steve24_74 жыл бұрын
@@Esotericdetail hey I appreciate the response 👍. Yes maybe so, I admit I'm just an OCD perfectionist at heart I guess and when I do something I try to do it all the way, so I guess it's just in my head that I'm messing up something I did my own self by just using windshield washing fluid which is a chemical onto the ceramic coating that I myself applied. I guess you're right I just wish there was a ph neutral option that could clean the windshield but then evaporate afterwards, since it could potentially be a daily use thing cleaning the windshield if people don't garage their car. Kind of on the same topic, If you have the time and if you have any info about it, I wonder what percentage of IPA starts breaking down the ceramic coating when it becomes subjected to it? Maybe we could dilute Windex washer fluid with a larger amount of IPA and maybe it would evaporate some after it's used on the windshield? I'm just trying to figure out a way to not have to wipe down my sides of the windshield where the fluid and dirt has dried even though there's ceramic applied to the windshield. Anyway thanks for the reply much appreciated 👍

So how does Gyeon View compare to a $3.00 bottle of RainX? How does Gyeon View compare in performance vs. RainX other than prolonged durability? I've used RainX for years but do need to apply it several times a year.
@Esotericdetail6 жыл бұрын
Haven't used RainX for many, many years so I can't say what a side to side comparison would be. Having said that though, Gyeon View is a much more modern use of chemical technologies. I'd bet money on the performance and durability of View in comparison to any of the simple over-the-counter solutions...

I had this applied to my BMW 2 series by my local detailer when he did my MOHS plus coating. However, he had to machine polish it off two weeks later. Why? Catastrophic wiper judder.....it was unbearable. The car was brand new so the wipers were fine, he coated the wiper blades as described here as well. Gave up in the end, tried another similar product, forget which brand but exact same results so he polished it off and then the judder issue went. Disappointed really as it looks a great product, just didn’t work for me :-(
@Esotericdetail6 жыл бұрын
Must have been something with that car/wiper combination if it did the same with two similar products. We haven't experienced this ourselves, but could see where it could happen given the right circumstances.

Can the "Cleanse" by applied by machine? Like a white Lake C pad or something.
@Esotericdetail6 жыл бұрын
Could it? Yes, most likely. Should it? I don't know that you would gain anything, and then you'd most likely want to dedicate that pad strictly to windshield use. I wouldn't want to put it back on paint after being loaded with Cleanse.

Todd, why is it that when you polish glass (Rupes Yellow, EX 04-06) the glass than stops beading and sheeting. Water just sticks? Even on new cars. I assume this product would solve that problem.
@Esotericdetail7 жыл бұрын
When polishing glass, particularly on windshields, you risk removing the hydrophobic layer...big risk of polishing windshields! We typically do not machine polish glass unless it's a last resort to get rid of heavy water spotting.

Awesome, good to know going forwards.

ESOTERIC - Fine Auto Finishing You mean hydrophobic layer from the manufacturing process? I’ve noticed new cars always bead up water on all the glass. Though it might just be that tempered glass has high surface tension as an intrinsic property.

Applied it on two of my cars, same experience. If it's not highway speed, you have to use your wipers 'cause water stays on the windshield. If it is highway speed, beading just messes up my focus when driving, I mean water just moves up and takes away my focus from the road. Long story short, no matter what, I needed to use the wipers which made this purchase a fail for me. Nothing against Geyon, I love their products, this is just my experience with the view.

The shot @ 4:43 doesn’t look anywhere near not needing to use your windshield wipers. Try doing that with a passenger in your car and I’d bet 10 out of 10 people would ask why you aren’t using your wipers... Tell them because you’re using some kind of magical coating and they’d probably laugh. Lol.
