Great how to Jody. I’m not sure about windscreen coating myself, has sort judder with every one that I tried, with new wipers, coated wipers etc. Interesting to hear about the new Rupes iBrid, machines, I’ve seen some folks claim that it is more powerful than the corded LHR15, less pad stall etc. I’m quite happy with my LHR15, with the washer mod. Put the money towards the M4! 😃
@cornwallcarcare89597 ай бұрын
Since looking into the polishers a bit more it seems there is mixed reviews but like you i'm sticking with the LHR15 + LHR21 ( with the carbon fiber washer mods 😉) and saving the money into the M4 pot 👍
@joeyofblades2 ай бұрын
Ah another thing, since this is a coating I believe you should throw away the microfibers you use to buff off the coating? Since it will cure the same way it does on your glass. Learned this a little bit of the hard way with cQuartz when I accidentally put one in the wrong pile and tried to clean my bathroom mirror with it on the first wipe, I was pissed but somehow relieved at least it wasn't my car's paint LOL.

Thanks for the video. What difference is there between a glass coating and a regular ceramic coating? Have you ever applied a regular coating on the windscreen? Thx
@cornwallcarcare89597 ай бұрын
Thanks for the question @rooboy99, there are some paint coatings which can be applied to glass but I never got the durability out of them and dedicated glass coatings are made stronger so it can take the abuse of the wiper blades, so personally I would only use a coating designed for for glass. Hope this helps 👍

Thanks for the video. I kind of want to polish my glass first but it's not that bad, I just kind of want to give it a try for the first time since I've never polished. People say glass is easy, you just have to watch out for too much heat sitting in one spot. I noticed you didn't stop to hit your pads with a blow gun periodically like some people recommend, but otherwise you made it look very easy. What's that tape you used for the edges of the windshield? I only have a 6" polisher so I'll probably have to be careful near the edges. Also, what did you clear the wiper blades with before you coated them with the product?
@cornwallcarcare89592 ай бұрын
@joeyofblades Labocosmetica Vitreo is great glass polish if you are looking to remove scratches but to clean the glass any polish will work, the tape was by Kamikaze and is great to use ( but its expensive ) to clean the wipers I just use a alcohol based glass cleaner, as for the 6" polisher that's fine to use and just do the corners by hand where the polisher cant get to. 👍
@joeyofblades2 ай бұрын
@@cornwallcarcare8959 I've used yellow masking tape on my car before and it leaves residue, blue is ideal for light duty things but I feel like if I accidentally hit it with the polisher it would tear it up, which is why I'm assuming detailers like yourself get the expensive tape. I had my windshield replaced less than a year ago so I'm thinking I can get away with just a Gyeon polish to clean it up. My roommate also has issues with his windshield (25 years old) which has really bad streaking even with new wipers and a nice cleaning, I actually gave him some of my clay so he can try to clay bar it with Soapy water because it's probably a bunch of surface contaminants causing issues. I told him if he buys the pad and product I'd practice on his windshield, but he's probably too cheap to do that haha.

Does it cause the wiper to squeak when using the wiper continuously?
@cornwallcarcare8959Ай бұрын
For the hundreds that I have done, there have only been a few that have juddered but have cleared up after a while or a new set of wiper blades sorted it out 👍

Have you always had the battery issue with the PXE or is this something I’ve got to look forward too? Could take a while if it’s a wear issue as I’m only a weekend warrior
@cornwallcarcare89597 ай бұрын
The PXE 80 gets used everyday and probably started after 4 months but doesn't affect it at all it just makes a racket and you can feel the vibration in the hand when holding it ( I do have the Rupes battery 3" but the speed controller has started failing on that ☹

whats different between the bigger size polish and the smaller
@cornwallcarcare89592 ай бұрын
@edwinwong123 the bigger bottle of polish is what I typically use for paintwork but it cleans the glass really well, and the glass polish in the kit also contains a bonding agent for the coating bond to 👍

How do you Remove Ceramic Coating from paint COMPLETELY video be great please
@cornwallcarcare89597 ай бұрын
That's a tricky one as some professional coatings require wet sanding to remove and most general ceramic coatings can be removed with a quick polish ( its not very often I get to remove coatings ) but if I do get one I will definitely document it 👍
@oli77117 ай бұрын
I don't get it, why do you apply 3 layers when Gyeon speaks of only 1 layer. So you need almost 4 packs, 44 euros each for all the Glas.. 😂 So that would be around 190 Euro 😂
@cornwallcarcare89597 ай бұрын
@oli7711 I dont know where you got that information from as Gyeon state 2 layers on the windscreen and 1 layer on the side windows in there instructions and as I was not doing the side windows I did an extra two on the windscreen with one bottle and still had some left over 👍
