hey Myk! I’m a professional ballet dancer and just wanted to give you a little tip on your pirouette with your leg parallel! You tend to (like a lot of people) stick your neck out a little bit and tuck the head which can cause the turn to be wobbly. Try and lengthen your neck a feel like your “ears are being pulled back”. If you watch Shawn Johnsons beam routines at the Olympics she did those turns realllllly well so maybe look at hers! 🤗 I want to see you in that All-Around SOOO much and every tenth counts so thought I’d just give you a heads up as an adoring fan! You are gonna CRUSH THIS!!! ❤️

I hope you bring home a medal or two of your own. Good luck! 🍀 🍀🍀 Remember to: be in the moment, do what you always do in practice and have fun. Oh and breathe. Sometimes a deep breath makes all the difference. Edited to add: on the days you feel the most run down talk to your body. Our cells respond to what we say to them. If you say, “I’m exhausted and so tired.” That is what your body feels. If you say: “I can do this one more time then I feed and rest up.” The body is like: oh okay I’ve got this. I really think USAG should have the national team work with a nutritionist. Y’all need energy food and yes that is carbs actually. If you have too much protein your body runs low on energy because of a lack of good carbs. I’m sure you know this already. You’ve got this. Holding space for your journey!

I'm a tiny bit concerned that you doing AA means you have less time to focus on your vault or floor fx, but honestly... It's your final meet, and it's the OLYMPICS. Go big or go home, as they say! Super excited to see you compete AA and I know ur gunna do great!

That’s what I also thought... Just focus on her strengths to earn a medal, rather than waste her time trying to reach AA Finals when we’ve got Simone, Suni, and Jordan who are ALL pretty solid AA gymnasts... But whatever makes Myk happy, I’ll support her! I’m just hoping she really earns a medal coz she’s been working so hard trying to get to the Olympic Team! 🥇

@@indakgalak TBH, I kind of think that if she keeps improving, her odds of qualifying to AA are on par with her odds of qualifying vault and floor. She's got the difficulty, and her form genuinely keeps getting better and better. I just wish our women weren't having to compete against their teammates as much as (if not more than) they're competing against other countries.

There is only so much pounding you can do to practice vt and fx, esp given that she also has the bone spur pressing on the achille tendon. So it's good to do some ub and bb training also.

All 6 athletes will compete all 4 events during qualifications in Tokyo. The team will then put up the 'best' 3 on each event from the 4 person team for team finals and all 3 scores will count. The top 2(per country) for AA and each event then go on to compete in the event and AA finals. I know there's a cap on how many total spots are in the finals I just don't recall what it is. Given this it totally makes sense for MyKayla to continue pushing on each event.

I think it is better for her to do all around. Inside of me saying that she have a chance to qualified into all arround, vault, beam, and floor. She have a huge chance to qualified into vault final. She also have a good chance get into beam final. I know a lot of people will not agree with me on that, but she have 6.6 potential D-score on beam. If she can hit beam routine like in her training, i think she can get 7.6 + on execution. That will give her 14.2 on the beam. I think she can handle the pressure on the olympic better than at olympic trial. She had too much pressure on trial but still stay on the beam. The chance to get into beam final is bigger than floor final( if she still doing DDLO).

You are looking AWESOME, Mykayla! Celebrate this amazing accomplishment; keep pushing but listen to your body. Even though your "older" body tires and gets so sore, remember that God wouldn't have brought you to this point--after ALL your challenges in the last 2 years--to finish your Elite career with anything beyond a Fabulous experience and result. YOU'VE GOT THIS❣

Is she the first gymnast to compete college, go to the Olympics and go pro?!? To get to experience it all is truly amazing. I know the road to the destination was paved with some disappointment, but how great to have experienced all the sport can offer.

Do you ever get tired of your floor music? As a dancer there are some songs that I never want to hear again because I heard them so many times while learning and preparing a piece. Also that pirouette on bars looks so good! So excited to watch you kill it at the Olympics!!

As a dancer I can relate to this so much...I had a solo for the past two years with the same music (pandemic) and I literally will not listen to that song willingly because I've heard it so much and I know every nook and cranny

Your videos make me have so much more respect for gymnasts or even elite athletes in general. Thank you so much for doing this MyKayla I am rooting for you! And thanks Jonas for working hard and being the best video producer you’re honestly such a pro now haha!
