I'm surprised that they're even comparable. I'm more and more impressed by hk.

I had the same LB, during the break in period around 300rds the thing locked up on me could not open the slide. Sent it back. I also have the elite and I love it.

Better keep that Les Baer oiled! It doesn’t even come close to my HK Expert. Period.

Yeah the hk is way more accurate this guy can’t really shoot that good though so you won’t be able to see it he’s at like 10 yrds all over the paper with both guns. He’s probably used to shooting the 1911 more. Longer barrel better recoil spring... rule of life - german engineering is always superior. Ford / Porsche - Sherman / tiger - hk / colt. # fun fact the only 45 caliber pistol the army adopted with a designation as an offensive handgun is basically a 45 elite. Actually the 45 elite is the target version. Mk23 socom , 1911s are cool 😎 but far from the most accurate 45s of the modern era. It’s still efficient and relevant in modern conflict the usmc has upgraded colt rail guns in use right now recon and marsoc. But that hk is something else he just can’t shoot to show you. It’s really the longer barrel that’s most of it and that hk trigger makes that off brand generic 1911 trigger feel like junk.
@rustyshackleford175 жыл бұрын
Having shot both extensively, a 1911 trigger from a $2000 pistol will objectively be better than anything H&K puts out. That shows in his groups. Throw both of these in the hands of someone skilled Hickok, he'd ping steel at 200 yards all day.

For target shooting, the trigger matters. The Elite trigger has some creeps in it from factory (at least mine has) and the break is not as clean. The Les Baer trigger is quite crisp and there's not much creeps at all (at least on my example, just a normal Premier II). He didn't show the trigger reset which is also superior in the Les Baer than in the Elite. However, the sweetest trigger I ever had in a 1911 was from Wilson Combat, which is even better than Les Baer. For reliability and ease of maintenance, I'd go for the HK. It's not as tricky as to remove a bull barrel from a 1911. A bit more complicated than the Glock or Sig as you need to line up the notch and pop the slide stop. The one feature that shows "German engineering" in the HK is the interesting key lock feature that will lock the action of the gun when turned 90 degree with the supplied key.

ousi00 yeah I hear you bro but there’s a reason why the army replaced the 1911 with the mk 23s and it wasn’t ease of maintenance man. 7 rds in a gun fight sucks man in my opinion the 1911 is a beautiful gun if I’m a soldier in the trenches of ww1 where my aponets have bolt action mausers. But in modern times it’s just outdated and not worths it’s Wheight compared to other modern 45cal pistols or submachine guns. Like the hk ump or the mk 23. I’m not concealed carrying a 1911 when I can have a beretta 96 in 40 cal do the same job with twice the mag capacity. Then again I can’t really speak from experience on that platform. I made the choice to do a ump 45 build if I’m slinging 45 cal hate down range I’d rather do it from a carbine or submachine gun platform like our military has been doing it from for the last 100 years the grease gun the Thompson and now the ump. . I don’t really need a 45 cal pistol that’s heavy as hell and that holds only 7 rds. I have no use for that. Neither does the government. That’s why hk is what it is today. If the 1911 was truly better than what hk put out the military wouldn’t have replaced them man. Beretta did that with a 9mm and when they realized they needed 45 in the arsenal we turned to hk. And the trigger pull btw has no affect on accuracy of the gun. That’s what people who can’t shoot say. They blame it on the trigger. I can shoot with any trigger a hair trigger or a lighter pull makes it a little easier. But it is literally impossible for a barrel using the same twist rate that’s a inch and a half shorter to group better than a longer barell with the same round . It’s physically impossible man. I understand your old school and like the platform but in the military old school guys usually get outshined by those willing to accept change. Napoleon , Rommel, Patton , ceaser all defied traditional tactics of their age. Don’t get so stuck in the old that you refuse to accept the superiority of modern designs. Easy way to end up dead in war. Or in this case out classed with little effort in the streets by joe smo the thug with a glock 45. Keep running that dinosaur gun if you want to. Hope you never have to pull it against any modern firearm in the same caliber.

have you shot a les baer 1911? i have a hk usp and a les baer trs. les baer will kill it in the accuracy department>. It has a rifle trigger in it. the usp is a fine gun but if i had to head shot a bad guy holding a hostage he is dead if i have a baer in my hand. No brag just fact
@charlesdaniel65035 жыл бұрын
im a navy seal god damit!! lol Nah im just a collector. I actually have a hk p7m13 i love. The barrel doesnt move so it should be technically more accurate. Your probably right. I just love my les baers. I have a trs and a les baer monolith. I have put a lot of rounds through a hk mk23 also. Very accurate. Will you at least agree with me that it is hard to beat a 1911 trigger that was done by A good gunsmith? I love german guns also. I have a hk mp5 registered receiver thati t wouldnt ever sell. Back to the les baer though, my right hand has a plate in it and is fused in place so i just got more comfortable shooting it. My hk p7 wears me out after a long day with the squeeze cocker. Plus it gets hot as hell after two mags. The hk mk 23 with a aac tirant on it is had to beat fun wise though

Depends on what you want to do with it... Just indoor square and static range toy? Either will do... Competition like Steel or 3-Gun, TS in 9... Tacti-cool classes, etc., the Elite would be fun
@rustyshackleford175 жыл бұрын
The USP Elite is a lot like the Mark 23. If you're considering one, you might as well buy it as soon as one pops up in the gun store because they're very difficult to find for reasonable prices.

if you see a HK in the gun store BUY IT , over here in europe there is a 2 year waithing list , there is a reason a lot of militaire choosing HK , the next best thing or even as good is FN

Well, It looks like your shooting @ 7 yards. Not that far. Try shooting lead bullets through both guns and see which chokes. The 1911 will eaten up.
@rodralig6 жыл бұрын
At 7-yards, any other pistol can also inherently makes such groups. A stock full-sized Glock should be able to make less than 2-inches at that distance slow fire.

@rodralig6 жыл бұрын
My perspective? For such awesome pistols, either the range was TOO short or the grouping was TOO wide that one can't convincingly see the inherent precision/accuracy of either the USP Elite or the Les Baer. My suggestion? Push the range to 25-yards plus...

Немчура великовата на первый взгляд, но в целом ничуть не хуже. Хотя конешна 1911й классика.
