To me H&M is the IKEA of fashion. Affordable but well designed. I remember when Stella McCarthy designed a collection for H& M and it sold out of the NYC store. Folks lost their minds and it made the news. I always liked H &M because the clothes feel current but not trendy.

H&M in Britain is a level up from Primark but a level down from River Island, in my opinion. However, for me, a major factor that wasn't covered here is their price tags; they've got every currency on them. This shows the customer that they're a global brand, if you're abroad on holiday and need a t-shirt or undies in a pinch you've always got H&M because you've seen the tag with US Dollars, British Pounds, Swedish Kroner and many others. This also lowers printing costs and has a small environmental impact.
@MONET8iAM Жыл бұрын
We don’t have River Island in the US, but I’m familiar with it, and we’ve recently started getting Primark. Your statement is pretty accurate. River Island is more adjacent to Zara in my opinion.

I live in the UK and a H&M replaced a BHS (which was a home store brand that fell into bankruptcy) in my local mall which is about 30 minutes away from where I live. @@crimsontheotter it depends on the mall, my mall was mostly empty before the renovation. H&M was located on one side of the mall that was sharing space with a former department store Kohls which was later demolished for a new restaurant plaza. H&M moved in once Abercrombie closed that location.
