Awesome as usual Alexander. Edouard and HM&C are my favorites in the watch world. I can appreciate the accessibility he provides. His vision and control over the watches is impressive and spot on. Over the years, our media feed has been bombarded by tons of watches such as the submariners, royal oaks, and nautiluses. While I’m still a big fan of the holy trinity, it is absolutely refreshing to see the birth of the Streamliner. When I first chance upon it, I was a little taken aback as it wasn’t the typical watch our eyes were used to seeing. But the next day, I caught myself heading down to my AD to place a booking for the green dragon. These watches are so simple, elegant and very very mesmerizing.

If they had replaced the chronograph's second track with a minimal one that doesn't have those red highlights or sub seconds markers that were made redundant by the fact that it's not a chronograph. I understand the desire to make that elusive sporty dress watch fusion. But that has already been achieved by the Streamliner's case & bracelet design and perfected with the smoked gray dial. And if the logo under the 12hr marker was more pronounced/visible. These are just my personal thoughts. I'm nowhere near as qualified as the people responsible for giving us masterpieces like these.

I discovered H Moser & Cie back in 2008 clean dials, shapely hands, scalloped case sides, first the Mayu and Monard, and then the perpetual calendar with that oh so subtle month indicator. Lovely. Here in the sporty interpretation, with the Streamliner, in terms of looks when it was new, to me, it was all about the bracelet. This one, I like the signature clean dial and that month indicator which looks almost art decoish. All good sports watches do well having the winder at 4 o'clock. This watch would be a killer in solid gold, too.

WOW! What a release!!!! Such a mega cool perpetual calendar!!! Another excellent interview/release @watchadvisor! I think this new Streamliner design is almost perfect.... I just feel there is something alittle off, I just can't figure it out. Maybe if they made the minute track a little more subtle or maybe it was the date wheel action when you were forwarding the date..... the way the date cycles through, it just looks like it was a little weird. Quick question, do you think Moser would ever release a Streamliner with a removable bracelet? I think the Streamliner would love wonderful in a rubber strap! (I am more of a watch strap person)
@WatchAdvisor3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing our passion and your feedback! That’s a good question! Not for the moment I suppose, but later this could be an option…. The bracelet is an integral part of the design of the watch, so Moser might develop a specific strap design for the Streamliner… who knows?

Love the design and the movement of this one. The only flaw that bothers me on this watch is I lose 7 minutes of accurate time telling when the minute arm cuts through the date window and the power reserve. Why, Edouard, Why?
@WatchAdvisor3 жыл бұрын
??? Can you specify please, I don’t get the point…
@antoniolei99273 жыл бұрын
You Will see if you look at the markers where the date window and the power reserve indicators are. It is difficult to tell the minutes between 18 and 21 then 48 and 52. That’s 7 mins out of 60 mins of inaccurate time reading which I have to guess to +/- 1 min.
@WatchAdvisor3 жыл бұрын
Ok, I hear you! That’s nothing I would worry about though…
@antoniolei99273 жыл бұрын
Right. In the grand scheme of the design, it’s not a big problem. I understand that they are trying to make a minimal and clean dial. But I can see that it would be annoying to some. Especially when someone ask what time it is and I would say it’s either 10:19 or 10:20 :). We enter the quantum mechanics domain twice an hour where I cannot tell the exact location but only the probability of where it is :)

Very good video format by the falls on a beautiful day with closeups of all the watches including dimensions and Retail Price in €. One of the WatchBox team, Armand, who I follow explained how the original Moser Perpetual Calendar worked. The benchmark format for one in my opinion is the Patek Philippe 5726 Annual Calendar with 3 aperture windows; a moonphase and 24 Hr indication. All Patek Philippe’s Perpetual Calendars only have my preferred aperture window dor weekday and month and a rotary pointer for date. This is very legible with thick hour and minute hands and a white seconds hand on the grey background. The way the calendar operates at Midnight instantaneously was very impressive. The Rolex I had, a GMT 116719BLRO and before that 116718LN were supposed to change instantaneously at Midnight according to one of their animations, but didn’t: changing at around 3 minutes past and that is universal from what I’ve seen. I did ask Patek Philippe the order of the apertures for February 2020 - a leap year and this year, but for not reply. It looks like from the CEO’s description here, that they cycle through the whole datewheel including 31 before going to 1 March. I know he wants to keep the dial like a 3 hand time only watch, but an identical aperture for the Day would look good. It’s also good you can change it back and forth around Midnight, like Rolex’s Sky-Dweller Annual Calendar which uses the 12 hours for the month like the Streamliner QP as well. This has 12 ATM/ 120m when Rolex has 100m and most Patek Philippe have 50m for the 5740 QP and their dress QP just 30m. I like the Lagoon Blue Pioneer, and have got used to watches without a seconds track, but prefer the seconds track similar to some Omega Speedmaster in the Chronograph Streamliner from January 2020 with the blue dial and this latest Streamliner QP with red accents and grey dial. I know it had a double deployant butterfly clasp like Patek and AP, but if they could develop some tool-free micro adjustment into it that they haven’t got would be an advantage.
