The Volume Noise Fog node is very useful for breaking up a volume source to create a more organic look. Learn how to access a wide range of noise types and use them to manipulate volumes that can then be converted back into interesting geometric shapes. You will also learn about other noise nodes such as Volume Adjust Fog, Volume Noise SDF and Volume Noise Vector.

How do we achieve the last example where he says that he added "turbulence" to the volume? The velocity field looked like isolines.

So nothing you couldn’t have done with volume vops…… but fast and accessible. Nice!

Anyone know where that help page is? I click on the question mark and also searched volumenoise, and it just showed some examples on a plane. Thanks for any help and HEY @MattEstela!

Some say, that he was born inside a computer case... and that if he's scared at night, he glows in the dark... all we know is, he's called Paul "It's Houdini Time" Esteves!!!!

all of this can be easily made within 18.5. Although Im sure SideFX worked on optimization and rewriting hardcoded nodes as well, I find all these new "packaged" features a bit gadgety tbh,

gadgety? Oh, right.. so.. I mean, the vdb tools are kind of gadgety, they just turn stuff into vdb with 1 click.. pfft, and don't get me started on dopnets, I mean does no one code their own stuff in c++ anymore? fucking easy mode. the pyro solver isn't even 100% accurate to real life anyway, so why bother right? we don't actually need icons or any of it... come to think of it, why are people using Houdini? such a lame easily packed up tool that might make it easier and faster to do work and deliver deadlines, which happens to be some peoples jobs, let alone now with new too easy made tools, new artists, or god forbid non fx artists might be able to help the pipeline.. pfft I mean sidefx has clearly lost it and has no idea what they are doing here.

Im like you guys I wanna save time. I just find it sometimes not really practical for custom things to use these kinda noise. I think you better understand how things work when going old school first
