We were denied an immigrant visa at the interview at the U.S. embassy in the F3 category because my grandfather (our sponsor) had passed away. We were then moved to the F4 category, and my paternal uncle became our sponsor. Thankfully, we were given another interview after 8 months in October 2024. Unfortunately, our CEAC account showed an “application error,” despite many attempts to resolve it and reporting the issue to both the embassy and the NVC, but to no avail. We were supposed to upload the DS-260 form there, but we couldn’t due to the online error. When we discussed this issue in an interview at the embassy, they said it was okay, and they would upload the documents and place our case into “administrative processing” following the second interview, without providing any explanation and told us you can acquire knowledge about your case after 2 months. 😢

I was interviewed on 27-Feb-2023 and I got 221g (Yello Paper) for Administrative processing, Now after One Year its still stuck in administrative processing. My case updated two time (23-Dec-2023 & 8-Feb-2024) but still waiting and case status is REFUSED 😭😭😭😭😭

Officer said visa approved and will get in 4-5 days still case status is showing refused also no indication related 221 g etc. no E-email received as of now…no idea what will happen..

I got the 221g white slip with mentioned as submit new passport as the VO said ur passport is damaged... So any idea on this...she also returned i129s as well and said submit these along with new passport

Hell Shank, I faced a situation very similar to yours. After having my case under administrative processing for nearly 5 months. I received an email today asking me to drop-off my passport at the drop-off location. I have not gone through the drop-off process so I don't know the specifics. So I just wanted to ask you if you had to make a separate appointment for document drop-off?

Hello shank, I received a 221g after my Dropbox and asked to schedule an appointment for in person interview. But when I go to appointment portal I don’t see any option to schedule a follow up appointment. Can provide details on how you booked your appointment?

@@sohailahamed3992 I wanted to know the same. On my 221g it's written just carry this letter and go to the embassy in Chennai. I'm not even sure if they will entertain you without an appointment and you can't schedule appointment from your portal as that option is not available anymore.

Hi, my case is also refused under administrative processing , my appeared for interview on 8 feb 2021 , I followed up with them multiple time but they there is no response for 10 months , on October 31 they updated my case but it stays it’s refused under administrative processing and when I follow up with them they say they don’t require any thing from my side and they will update me but there is no progress. It’s been more than 260 days and I am losing my precious time , can you guide me how to progress from here

Hi, national interest letter basically tells how and why your reentry to US is in the national interest of US. Calling embassy usually do not work.

On 26 august I was checked my application status at caec website and it said my application has been received but after 1-2 hour it showed my visa refused by us consullar. So , now it’s day 5 I have not recieved any email or phone call from us consulate. Is that mean my visa really got refused. I applied my application through dropbox

It happened with me in 2018, I got 221-g and called for interview in April, got another form in interview to email documents, submitted documents in May, got stamped visa in August. Now, in 2022, I am in same boat again, drop-boxed in late June, got called for interview last week. Going tomorrow for interview with fingers crossed. Happy to know that you got your visa !

Officer said everything looks good but we need some additional information and asked me to go to another counter where I was handed DS5535 to be filled and returned via e-mail. He said tentative duration should be 4-6 weeks for them to process. Same thing happened with my friend last year. His response took around 6 weeks.
