Ultimately it is about getting the feel of the machines properly. Once you know your machine, all is good! The Eva, because of the fancy software, is really intuitive to use.

a few comments. I have a Artec Leo, you need as much RAM as possible for the scanner computer. you need best possible graphic card. need to put something behind thin parts with lots of patterns that are random. the Eva is capable of much more. good luck with the channel

Gosh I want a Leo SO BAD! The eva is definitely capable of more, I have learned since this and we will be doing a follow up in the new year!

Dud you are a fantastic presenter just enough of keeping it light with packed in fantastic info. With that said I would love to see you in a more organized professional setting!!!!! Also with that said my 3 labs look like yours so not a single flat surface left to work on and everything is every ware LOL

I wish I had one too. That is literally a work table set up in my garage for the purposes of filming. When it's not being used for filming it's being used for working. Could have done with a little bit more cleaning for that video, but I was in the middle of a project at the time.

@@3DMusketeers YEP, I know its hard to dedicate space! Even if I gain more space it seems like it keeps evolving into other projects. I know for myself I just need to focus on more of what counts and less on what I enjoy UNFORTUNATELY!

Would like to see what you produced from the scan. I am interested in reasonably priced systems, but also want to learn what you have to do to the raw data to make it printable.

I wish I could on this one.. Since it is a client part we cannot share the data. The software cleaned it up though! The setup, with computer you see there is around 21-22k USD (plus $1200/yr for software). We will be going through more affordable ones, should I be able to convince them to send me review units lol.. But the Artec Studio software is what is really the powerhouse behind the scanners.. It fixes so much lol.

@@3DMusketeers Thanks for the information. I think it would be fun and a very creative tool to have, but would have to be around the $500 or so range for most hobbyists. Would also depend on how much or what kind of CAD was needed.

well I intend to play in that range too! But I do also want to hold the big companies accountable if they have bad hardware, software, etc. It is also going to be fun comparing scanners at the $500 mark to the $20k eva. I think it will show some very distinct price to performance charts!
