Best bench cue I've heard, that works nicely for me, (I believe from a video with Jen Thompson, multiple IPF champ) was rather than pushing your chest up to the bar, is instead trying to pin shoulders down your back towards the bench, AND back down towards your toes. This last part especially helps really engage my lats for the rep. In case it's of interest to try. Loving the vids

I think u could bench 155kg rn squat between 240 and 250kg and deadlift u have the strength for around 290kg but with your grip I would say around 280kg so for the last 4 weeks u could 100% get a 700kg total i believe in u bro keep grinding

Thanks a lot man, I think you are probably about right, I will have the strength for more than 300 now with straps but the grip wouldn't hold out.

Yeah bottom would be lacking in chest, lockout is triceps. There are also some potential shoulder weakness

As someone who's a serious tricker as well as a serious lifter, I have a question: How do you manage to maintain your tricking skills amid the bodyweight fluctuations of bulking/cutting? I recently got my gainer flash super high and floaty and graceful, but then after a weekend of unwisely binge-eating I gained probably five or ten lbs of water weight, and when I attempted gainer flash, I couldn't land it a single time. I feel like the added weight must have thrown me off balance and made the trick harder. Tips for dealing with this? Is it better to lose the weight before attempting the trick again, or would it be more beneficial to learn to do the trick at a higher bodyweight (provided my bodyweight never exceeds a reasonable level for general fitness)?

For me it just takes a session or two to adjust to a new centre of gravity, I expect that centre is only fractionally off where it was but you can still feel it. For me it's never been a big issue just requires a bit of time

for any sort of joint pain i usually use this supplement called Flex from Animal, it's kinda expensive but it's sooo good for joint care and overall health. i tend to use it in cycles like 1 month on then go without for 1 or 2 months then again on another block and so on, maybe for a short prep it could increase the work load a tiny bit

Holding your breath through the whole rep is actually more "optimal", obviously not for your eyes but you stay more stable. Just food for thought there that holding your breath isn't a bad habit ☺️
@Jafmanz
@Jafmanz Жыл бұрын
holding it in your face is not good though. having an open mouth is a good idea to train holding it down rather than up.

if i were him i'd just ask one of the best squatters in the world.... Clarence... which im sure he did, he knows what he is doing, as long as you brace the air can move freely, like strongmans doing farmers walk they usually take little sips of air and keep the tension in the brace anyway.
@punttijulle
@punttijulle Жыл бұрын
@@devilpunk62 yeah of course but more air = more expansion in the core, which mean better stability. Not trying to be a smartass here just tryna help
@punttijulle
@punttijulle Жыл бұрын
@@Jafmanz yeah that's true but holding as much air as possible and pushing against the belt is the best idea for maximal strength

5:00 do you already do jujitsu? Imo it’s by far the most enjoyable sport to train (which powerlifting doesn’t sound like lol). You’d be a beast at it too

When training for combat sports, do you also lift weights? If so, how do you balance both activities?
@HadynWiseman

I personally would but would focus on speed and power rather than max static strength. It would depend how many times I was training the sport
